Whoever plays Superman should in all likeliness play Bizarro

Not necessarily.

Especially under prosthetics to look like this:

bizarrosuperman.jpg

It could be any 6'4 actor with an evil presense.

He would look and sound nothing like Superman anyway.

But it should be a distorted appearance of whoever plays Superman with a distorted voice of whoever plays Superman (becuase thats what he is) not just some random disfigured dude with a random strange voice.

What are you talking about? There's several different origins for Bizarro beyond the TAS one where he starts off as Superman and mutates.

In fact the Bizarro spec script at Warners currently involves a Bizarro Earth (that's square) and Bizarro Superman being from that world.

The prosthetics for Bizarro would be so heavy, it really could be any actor under there. It doesn't necessarily have to be the Superman actor; especially if there's another actor who fits the evil, creepy mold of the character better.

What are you talking about? Whether its Superman clone or Superman's counterpart from a Bizarro world, he is still a distorted image of Superman (not necessarily a literal distortion of Superman). And there is no telling how heavy the Bizarro make-up will be because like you said theres been a few different incarnations some of which have been depicted less ghoulish than others. And if the make up is so heavy as you say than the level of evil and creepiness of the actor underneath isnt gonna help much. From both a performance, appearance, and continuity standpoint the same actor should play both because their should be some level of familiarity between them, in both looks, voice pattern, and personality, even if its only a passing resemblance.

That's just your opinion though. They can just as easily have another actor in the prosthetic makeup playing the role. There's really nothing definitive that mandates the use of the same actor.

Smallville had Welling play both (since their Bizarro appeared human for 95% of the time) but Superboy had different actors for Clark and Bizarro.

The original point was I can see Scott Elrod as Bizarro:

I'm down with Scott Elrod as Bizarro.

Dude looks evil as f%ck.

But not as Superman.

Nor is their anything definitive that mandates the use of separate actors.

But because Bizarro is a borderline spoof and/or opposite of Superman most of the time, the actor playing Superman already has most of the natural elements he brings to Supes which would be applied to Bizarro but with a much different goal, rather than some other actor copying and spoofing (lack of a better word) the performance of whoever is actually cast as Supes. The performance would be much more accurate.

Which we havent lost.

But not as Superman.

Ya dont say :whatever:

Nor is their anything definitive that mandates the use of separate actors.

Well..duh.

I never claimed it was so. I said either is possible. Which still means I can see an actor who would work as Bizarro; with the possibility existing that seperate actors can be used.

Opinion.

You never actually said either is possible. You just continued to argue your point pretty much in the same way I was, pretty much as your preference, so I see no reason to say "Opinion," because of course its my opinion. And everything you said was your opinion. So why say opinion? (legit question, not trying to make fun)

I implied both are possible. Read my posts. I didn't feel the need to come straight out and say it, it seems rather redundant, why state the obvious?

All I did was mention they could just as easily use another actor. I didn't say it was the only route.

I don't have a preference whether it's the Superman actor playing Bizarro or another actor.

I'm just telling you either option is possible; despite your opinion that the Superman actor should play Bizarro.

Obviously I overlooked the "necessarily," but I still recognize that either is possible, I have just chosen a preference. And I understand its my opinion, since this is a discussion forum afterall. I put out my opinion to be discussed, I don't need it continuously pointed out that it is my opinion because I know that.

The actor that would be a good superman might not make as good a bizzaro, bizzaro may be superman but they arent the exact same person, it would be extremely hard to put on a good performance as an almost ******ed superman and as a normal one. whoever plays bizzaro just has to be similar to the actor playing superman otherwise bizzaro might not turn out the way most people think of him as. it doesnt have to be the same guy at all as long as he can play bizzaro.

y is that did u read wat i just typed

im with man of tomorrow,i would go for the justice version that looks nothing like supes

JUSTICE LEAGUE International

Justice_League_International_06.jpg

Justice League International, the action comedy of the summer.
Just sort of playing around with casting ideas for a JLI movie,
I haven't cast everyone. Some I am not sure who would fit,
and some I have cast I am not sure about. But here they are so far:

christianbaleasbatman2.jpg

Christian Bale as Batman, he is great as Batman in his own franchise.
So why mess with it.

brandonmolaleasCaptainMarvel.jpg

Brandon Molale as Captain Marvel, he looks like Captain Marvel brought to life
plus I think he is interested in playing him.

henry-rollinsasguy2.jpg

Henry Rollins as Guy Gardner. I have mentioned him for the role elsewhere.
He is great at playing big, tough guy, loud mouthed jerks, you love to hate.

YvonneStrahovskiasBlackCanary.jpg

Yvonne Strahovski as Black Canary. She looks like Black Canary,
and she can do action like she does in Chuck.

maybemrmiracleplayedbyIoanGruffudd.jpg

Mr. Miracle was a hard one, still not sure who to cast.
But Ioan Gruffudd voiced him for the JLA cartoon series.
Plus I think he could probably pull it off.
But I would be open to hearing other choices for the role.

JohnnKrasinskiasBlueBeetle.jpg

Johnn Krasinski as Blue Beetle.
He just seems like he could pull off Ted Kord/Blue Beetle.

maybeJamesRodayforboostergold.jpg
maybenathanfillionforboostergold.jpg

James Roday as Booster Gold, maybe. I would like to see that.
I think he would be good. The only problem would be he isn't as tall as Krasinski,
and I would imagine Beetle and Booster would have lots of scenes together.
Someone else mentioned Nathan Fillion, somewhere, for Booster Gold.
I could see that working too. Based on looks alone Booster seems like a great hero,
Fillion looks like he could play a hero in some comic book movie, and he can play comedy too.
Again he isn't as tall as Krasinski but he almost is.

GeorgeEadsasCaptainAtom1.jpg

George Eads as Captain Atom, he voiced him in the cartoon JLA,
so we know he can play the character.
But more than that he is a good actor on CSI and he looks like
Captain Atom to me, and I think he could pull it off well.

The voice actyors I cast are good actors and look the part anyway. Ioan Gruffudd look like he could play Mister Miracle, although I don't know for sure. And Eads definitely looks like Captain Atom to me, and can act too. I think my casting is very creative. Whats not creative is casting Christian Bale as Batman because he already is playing Batman.

JUSTICE LEAGUE International
PART 2

samneillasmaxwelllord1.jpg
RupertEvansasmaxwelllord.jpg

Sam Neill or Rupert Evans as Maxwell Lord.
Artist Kevin Maguire drew Maxwell Lord as Sam Neill from from the Omen III from the very beginning. He even says so. But perhaps he is too old now, so maybe Evans could do it instead. He sort of looks the part. And I think there were rumors about him playing Lord at one time.

LucyLiuasdrlightmaybe.jpg
GraceParkdrlightmaybe.jpg

Lucy Liu, or Grace Park, as Dr. Light
I don't know how necissary casting a actor of the same nationality as the character they are portraying is, but here are a few choices for Dr. Light. I wasn't sure who because I am unfamiliar with the character.
Someone suggested Lucy Liu, but maybe she is too old for the young character now.
Or maybe Grace Park could play Dr. Light.

DennisHaysbertasMartianManhuntermay.jpg

Dennis Haysbert as Martian Manhunter.
Jonn needs to have a powerful voice, Haysbert is a good actor
and can play an action type hero, as well as have a powerful voice.

MichaelWeatherlyasBoosterGoldmaybe.jpg

Another choice for Booster Gold is Michael Weatherly.
On NCIS he plays a sort of comedic role, maybe he could pull of Booster.

I am not sure who could play Big Barda.
She would have to be bigger than Mister Miracle,
but also be a good actress and not just a wrestler.

I'm also sorry to say that I have no clue, at the moment,
who should play Dr. Fate.

I also don't know who to cast as Oberon.

Any suggestions for these roles?
Barda? Oberon? Fate?

If we get the JL movie in 4-5 years here is my true dream Big 7

oarvjl.jpg

Brandon Routh-Superman
Christian Bale-Batman
Bridget Regan-Wonder Woman
Ryan Reynolds-Hal Jordan
Neil Patrick Harris-Bary Allen
Scott Speedman-Aquaman
Chiwetel Ejiofor-Martian Manhunter

Notes: NPH is a little old but doesn't look it and comes off as youthful on HIMYM (awesome show btw). Chiwetel was my original choice for J'onn but switched to harry Lennix, however someone mentioned Harry as Black manta and I LOVED that so switched back

There's no way we'll get a JLA movie in the next 4-5 years...

However, if they set up the solo films in place (Batman, Green Lantern, Superman, Flash, Green Arrow... now possibly Aquaman), there's a good chance we'll get JLA within the decade if Avengers is a success.

That being said, I'd still say Routh and Bale should continue (especially Bale; I don't see WB letting him go...similar to Jackman with Fox and Mcguire with Sony).

They can just as easily play these characters again into their 40s for this JL film.

Not so sure about NPH. I think Scott Porter would be the safer bet. Especially with Flash being the young guy of the team.

The real issue is whats going to happen with superman will they make another film. will it be a reboot, will routh return, then what will happen come 2013 with the other family going for the copyright, and will dc still be able to do a full superman????? So many questions their.

They are working on another film right now.

Whether it will materialize is the big question..

Ya i know that, and i do hope it happens. Hopefully in the coming months we will know for sure what it is going ot be. Will they do a fresh start reboot with everything new, will they try and say its a vague sequel to SR being vague sequel to original films, will routh be back(you guys know i dont want him) or will it be new guy? Then like i said even if they do end up getting this next film going and out. Will they be able to make sequels to it if its a sucess, or will their be more court drama from the siegels and wb/dc both forced to pony up more dough? then what happens if the families get the one half of the rights that include lois/clark/etc...... elements and wb/dc cant do any more regular superman?

A sequel to Superman Returns isn't an option. I can tell you that will 100% confidence.

It will be a reboot of the Superman franchaise; a new origins, whether it involves Brandon playing Superman or not.
