Its a boarding school though, not a military school

It's already been depicted as a little of both. TLS had the Danger Room, where older students were given suits and took part in combat training. Even the original film showed Jean and Scott doing target practice.

You really don't get the premise of X-MEN

I'd assume the military angle would be restricted to a small group who were allowed in the subbasement area so it would have to be explained why this new group of new mutants stand out compared to the others at the school as this is not the animated series where jubilee can just turn up and be an X-Man, this is a school full of kids of various ages that the film makers are at least trying to pass off as a real school where they do normal kid things like study and play.

I am just voicing a possibility to take into consideration because we don't know how they are gonna execute the concept.

Its a boarding school though, not a military school, only reason to train kids to fight is if thats the goal but i don't think the idea of this school to teach them how to fight as that poor kid in X2 who could just switch channels by blinking would sure have a tough time huh ;p

There is most definitely a contrast between book and film here and if they do train a certain way then it will have to be for a good purpose that Xavier would feel for whatever reason these 5 or 6 kids out of many other kids at the school need to be trained.

I think you miss the overall point of it all though. Some of these kids have powers that are extraordinarily dangerous and need specialized training to keep from hurting other or themselves like Storm tells Jubilee in the first episode of TAS
"We learn something very special here... how to control our mutant powers for the benefit of mankind!"

That is what the school was established for. So I see no reason why they could train in a more controlled gymnasium type of setting to hone there powers.

If such a location is written in the script then yeah course.

No brainer, New Mutant will have costume because it 's a obligation for marketing.
You have suit in DOFP and Apoc, yes they are are black but a costume is a costume.
Fox marketing need costumes for the promo and marketing plan ( trailer, poster, image ectc ...)

Don't worry, you will see the costume and 99% chance they will be black and yellow.

I thought the same about apocalypse that they were gonna attempt to give them each unique suits for marketing sake but that didn't happen till the end.

Although with the way the story was structured there probably wasn't any way they could have got suits.

Maybe the kids will sneak into the underground levels and take the yellow suits for an unauthorized mission at the end. Maybe to prove a point.

Yeah but they have battle suit (black) in the movie. My point is they will not make New Mutant with Magik and co in civil clothes only . They will wear somethings.

Depends really.

hasn't the the leaked demo and concept art all of them in civilan clothes.

there should be some kind of colorful outfit in film but it's possable new mutants don't get their team outfit till end of film.really it depends on what Josh Boone wants to do.

Magik looks like she could be in costume in the animation.

No you didn't. You were always adamant that they'd only get those black costumes and never get any costumes after that. Even after I hinted to the boards that they would get costumes at the end.

Not exactly, before the black costumes were revealed i argued that i though they would give them unique outfits for the sake of marketing and because the concept art made it look like they might be in colored costumes which didn't end up happening.

Then those images of the colored outfits appeared online and talk started on here about whether they were gonna be in those outfits in a secret final battle and i always argued they probably wouldn't market them in the black outfits if that was the case.

After the black costumes were revealed you specifically said they weren't getting any other costumes.

If i did i assume i fell into the same trap as other do where I gathered they would wear the outfits for a battle rather then the last 5 minutes of the movie.

But then again i might have also believed the black costumes were an attempt at connecting with the OT perhaps which was always a possibility.

That's what you are missing though... that could very much be the Danger Room.

If there is a purpose for it, given that its a school i imagine students don't just get to go to the subbasement regularly.

Yes to this sums it up perfectly.

The Danger Room is capable of any level of threat or training program to acomodate the user.

Just let it go his point of reference is the >>movies<< he doesn't know the comics.

Oh thats what i thought we was talking about.

I am just surprised at this point people continue to have expectations that we are gonna get a direct comic to live action translation since i been on this board long enough to have my own expectation of how they were gonna translate the source material dashed to seeing others and their even higher expectations dashed and that goes way back to 2006 onwards so at this point looking at the comics as some guideline that has to be followed just makes it seem like people here have learnt nothing.

There is a contrast between the books and the films which yeah can be written around to make sense of but its still there.

The most profitable FoX comic book movie is surprisingly their most comic book accurate. So the can't make it like the comics excuse doesn't fly anymore.

Just because you've accepted mediocrity from X-Men doesn't mean the rest of us have to adopt your "Please sir can I have another" attitude

Seeing the kids sitting round doing homework is hardly gonna be very dynamic for a movie, so I would think that Danger Room training has got to be a part of the film at some point.

The last scene of XM:A showed that Xavier has now wised up to the idea of training the mutants for potential battle.
