Sequels The X-FORCE Official Thread - Part 1

Brolin better do mo-cap for a much taller cgi cable for the X force movie or I boycott......:hehe: :o

Maybe I should submit some jokes for consideration to the Deadpool crew since some of those jokes also fell flat.

I mean a 4th Dubstep joke? Really? :oldrazz:

I will take that over that awful Taser face running gag from that other movie..:cwink:

Definitely trying too hard now. :o

My one advise for X-Force. Scale back on the Deadpoolisms. Give more time to Cable and Domino. I will rather not have Deadpool there.

Deadpool is not even a core X-Force member. I truly wish X-force could have been born from the new mutants like the comics but this will do for now

And yet Deadpool is, together with Cable and Domino, one of the most important and popular characters to come from the X-Force series.
And he has been a member of the team in the brilliant Rick Remender run.

I am not disputing Deadpool's status but X-Force is usually at its best when they tackle the gritter side of x-men's business with less Deadpoolism. I think the only time I loved Deadpool in X-Force was during Messiah War.

I don't need the Deadpool jokes and 4th wall breaks 24/7. Rick Remender's run... I found boring and did not finish it. Craig Kyle and Chris Yost's run were the best to me along with the Cable and X-Force series.

I will still have them scale back on Deadpool and give Ryan a Deadpool 3 movie instead. More importantly, I will like to see most of the control giving to the director, Drew Goddard. I love Ryan Reynolds but this is not a Deadpool movie. Its an X-Force movie, there needs to be a difference.

They know it's not a Deadpool movie, and Ryan Reynolds has already talked about how he's excited about X-Force because it's going to be completely different. He and his team know what they're doing.

If you say so:yay:.

Anyway I am curious. I always felt the real future of these movies lied between New Mutants and Xforce. it was the best way to rebuild and start fresh away from the messed up timeline. I hope Ryan keeps his words.

I agree about scaling back on the Deadpoolisms, but man, could they at least keep some of the unconventional Deadpool marketing for this..just a little...

Maybe eliminating Deadpool altogether from an X-Force team is an unrealistic expectation, especially considering the character's popularity. However scaling back on the Deadpoolisms is something they should strive. They've promised as such but hopefully they keep this one.

Definitely trying too hard now. :o

How about contributing to the thread (positively or negatively) instead of talking about other posters? Last time I checked you're not a Mod.

I think scaling back on the Deadpoolisms is like saying hey you know all that stuff people love? well do less of that!

So the X-force film will be entirely set up as a 4th wall breaking film as well? Or are you purposefully trying to not understand what "scaling back on the Deadpoolisms" mean?

I guess its all about balance.

I want Deadpool to be out of his comfort zone. Dropping most of his supporting cast, replacing them with X-Force related characters is the way to go.

Could be, its likely gonna be an expansion of the Deadpool films after all.

So it's Deadpool 3. XFINO.

Thankfully THE WRITERS AND RYAN REYNOLDS have already told us they're striving for a movie that's different from the previous Deadpool movies. So I'm not even sure what your post was about?

“Deadpool 2” screenwriter Rhett Reese
“We took great pains to try to set it up in this movie at the end,” Reese said. “So I think you’ll have some nice combination of those characters that you see at the end of this movie forming X-Force.”

Its likely to be an expansion of Deadpool 2, now whether that means alot of the Deadpoolisms will be toned down or totally gone is one thing but just how different they go with X-Force we will have to see.

The 4th wall break is still okay if it is written like the Messiah War storyline. Deadpool was breaking the wall alright but not once did it distract from the main story or change the tone.

For a team movie that has other lead characters that *DON'T* break the 4th wall and you think there will be the same amount of 4th-wall-breaking?

Edit: Added

Food for thought: Is Fox subconsciously doing an X-Force-titled film instead of a Deadpool 3 from the studio's history (and the industry's history TBH) of dropping the ball on the third films of their previous trilogies?

X-Force is not meant to be a 3rd film. Ryan said there could be a Deadpool 3.

X-Force should be the start of a new series, its the one reason I would rather not have deadpool there.

Last I heard, Reynolds doesn't think there will be a Deadpool 3.

On the 4th Wall Breaking, I would love it if Deadpool breaks the fourth wall and turns to the camera and starts speaking. Then we immediately cut to a different angle where everyone is staring at him thinking he's crazy and we see he's just talking to a wall.

Goddard recently spoke about working the script for X-Force:

http://www.slashfilm.com/x-force-the-good-place/

“The answer is, I don’t worry about the jokes. I just don’t. I worry about the characters, the story, and trust that we’ll make it funny. I did this show The Good Place, and I’ve been very lucky because I work with [creator] Mike Schur and I know, ‘Oh, these are the funniest people on the planet.’ So when I do anything like that, I just worry about the character, the emotion, and the story, and then I go call them and go, ‘Make it funny now!’ With Ryan, the same thing. Ryan Reynolds is so funny. You don’t stress out about it. It’s always easier to add jokes. It’s impossible to add emotion.”

And I do like that approach, especially when comparing it to The Good Place as that show does have its serious moments, despite it being primarily a comedy, and think that can work just as well for X-Force.

The last two sentences of that quote are so true. Especially for the types of jokes that are in the Deadpool movies. That makes me feel optimistic about the script.
