I can only imagine this will be set present day since the only reason to set it in the 80s or 90s if is they planned on mixing them with the X-Men in a big way but if the plan is to distance it from X-Men it probably won't matter at all.

I was confused about the tactic of releasing the movies the way they were but no i think i get it now.

Isnt the Defenders already done filming? This role would impact her appearances on a future season of the Netflix shows. She wouldnt be the first tv star to film a movie so I dont see why sh cant do both

I like this. Make their origin purely focused on them and their struggle at the facilty. Sequels can expand and connect later on.

And she's apparently not going to appear in The Punisher series, so unless she's slated to appear in any future seasons of MCU Netflix shows- although Daredevil is probably a given, since she's more or a main or supporting character there- her schedule wouldn't conflict.

Rosario Dawson as Cecelia Reyes legitimately has me shook!! Perhaps this is set in the present and Boone did a rewrite to swap Storm and Charles out for her! Dawson also isn't Native American and she deserves a power!

Henry Zaga isn't Afro-Brazilian (or at least that we know of, Bobby is half white in the comic) and that irks me a bit but he definitely has the attractiveness Sunspot is known for.

ROFL. I thought they'd use a tennis ball. This makes it sound like Demon Bear is a fakeout and we're getting Emplate instead. (If that is true, then that's lame since Emplate needs M to work as a character.)

If that is the case it is a bit worrying that they are able to just switch characters and settings/timelines out very easily.

Luckily this isn't a Kinberg-project so I have more faith.

Mocap is a valid option. And gives them something a bit more real to react to.

I'd figure that would go further against what you'd hope for.
