And just to round things out......

.Screen name: Andy C.

.Character you wish to portray: Wonder Woman, aka Diana Prince

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Hero

.Powers and physical attributes: Imbued with divine abilities and tools crafted by the gods, Wonder Woman has incredible strength and speed, and can fly through the air on invisible wings. An embodiment of Truth and Liberty, she can see the truth in all things, making her immune to illusion or mind control. Her Gauntlets of Victory are impervious to all attacks physical or magical, and her Lasso of Justice can reach into the minds of the wicked. The form of Wonder Woman is one that must be summoned, however, and in her human form Diana Prince is still very mortal.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

(From the original app)

There was a time, not as long ago as Men would like to think, when the Gods had the power to shape the Earth. They had this power because Men believed in them, called upon them for protection from the Monsters of the dark. The Gods and the worlds of Magic were once potent and vibrant, and crossed over with the world of Men in places all over the Earth.

Slowly but surely, the Earth changed, as Men strengthened their dominion over it. Science drove out Magic, Logic overruled Faith, and the Gods and Monsters would lose their power.

In the first half of the Twentieth Century, the world of Men began to tear itself apart. War and death ravaged whole continents, and there were many who prayed to their Gods for protection. Unfortunately, the Gods of old were too far gone, too distant to wield their power anymore. So the remaining pantheons did the next best thing:

They created an Angel.

A creature of immaculate beauty and tremendous power, gifted with the perception of the divine, and fueled by a duty to champion Justice and Peace. However, none of the individual pantheons had the power to bring her into the world of Men by themselves. To that end, the old Gods found a new land, one whose people worshiped new Gods: Liberty. Equality. Prosperity. The iconography of the new land's "Lady Liberty," the principles of their "Founding Fathers," and the garish adventurism of their "Justice Society" were the missing piece of the puzzle. Sculpted of the old and wrapped in the new, this Angel would be brought to Earth to be the true hero of the age: the Wonder Woman.

However, the creation was halted by the forces of Darkness, the mystics and occultists of the Third Reich attempting to destroy Wonder Woman in the cosmic plane. Though they could not destroy her, her essence was lost in time, and though the war would end, the world would become a darker place in the years to come.

Some two generations later, a girl was born in Washington D.C. Her parents named her Diana Prince, and she was every bit the perfect American daughter. Exceptionally bright, always active in school and in college, and fiercely passionate in her beliefs, Diana would later enlist in the Army to serve the country she loved.

While helping to rebuild the war-torn nation of Afghanistan, Diana was shot in a roadside ambush. Fatally wounded, she was sure that she would die right then and there. Instead, her eyes were truly opened. Her spirit flowed with power from beyond the world of Men. And her destiny was revealed to her.

She was the Wonder Woman, born too late to stop the horrors for which she was created, but not too late to stop the horrors yet to come.

Returning to America, she left the Army, believing she could do more good at home than abroad. Following in the footsteps of the new champions like Superman and the Flash, Wonder Woman became a crime-fighter and social crusader, traveling across the country to help wherever she could. Behind her charity and her vigilantism, she still has one single-minded goal: to save the world from the war that is just beyond the horizon.

Darkness looms over the world of Men, but not for long. For even though the age of Gods and Monsters is over, it has saved its best for last.

Diana has been traveling the country along with her old platoon mate and lover Steve Trevor, primarily acting against the shadowy terrorist organization known as Kobra. She has fought several of Kobra's super-powered henchmen, such as the Dark Angel, Captain Nazi, the Silver Swan, and the Cheetah. After helping out to repel the invasion of Sta'rro, Wonder Woman was one of the key figures in establishing the Justice League, on top of also learning that the mysterious Batman is in fact one of Diana's old Army friends, Bruce Wayne.

Tragically, upon her return from the founding of the League, she found that while she was gone, Steve Trevor was murdered in their bed, his throat slashed open by the vengeful Cheetah. Now, with nowhere to go and no one with whom to share her experiences, Wonder Woman may find herself becoming more unhinged in her battle against Kobra.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Ever since picking her up way back in UDCv1, I've always had a soft spot for Diana; she's one of those characters that should be an absolute great, but never really gets to be. I wanted to make her into a character that can rival Superman and Batman both in terms of powers and in personality, and I'm not done with her yet.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Well, for starters, the source of her powers and the nature of her alter-egos are very different from the traditional universe. And considering her boyfriend just got murdered, she's going to be a lot less friendly than the Diana we usually see. Whereas most people usually see Batman as the "bad one" of the JLA, folks are gonna have to keep a very close eye on Wondy now.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: An interesting take on one of the Big Three, as well as a love for character-intense storytelling and kickass fight scenes. And I can also do the Electric Slide better than anyone else on the Hype, I'll bet.

.Provide a short sample post as your desired character, in three paragraphs or more:

As Wonder Woman approached the campsite where Steve Trevor's truck and camper were parked, she could sense something was wrong. Whereas she could normally see him setting up the fire for the night or hear the clanking of pans as he tried to make dinner, it was eerily quiet and still.

As she touched down, she reverted back to the form of Diana Prince, and called out to him.

"Steve? Are you in there?"

She stepped into the camper, looking around for any sign of her partner. There were dark red spatters of blood on the faux-tile floor, sticking to her boots as she walked towards the sleeping area.

Pulling back the curtain, she saw Steve Trevor, the one person in whom she had confided her secret, with whom she had shared so many intimate moments on the road, lying in their bed, with his throat slashed open. The wound was not a clean one, but four angry gashes.

Claw marks. Almost assuredly the claws of the Cheetah.

Diana's blood began to boil, hot tears building up in her widened eyes. She fought with all of her strength just to stay on her feet, to not break down completely. After letting a few heavy sobs escape, she took in a deep breath....

....and clenched her hands into hardened fists.

These two points nearly caved in my brain:
- Wonder Woman doesn’t just double as Diana Prince, but juggles a third role as “Diana Themyscyra,” the head of Themiscyra industries. While “Diana Prince” functions as a disguise, Themyscyra is the fully public Wonder Woman while she’s not in costume. (The blog makes an analogy to Iron Man and his off-time persona, Tony Stark.)

- There’s a “CSI-ish” group of 20-somethings that live in Diana’s basement and probably help Diana solve crimes.
The second one in particular actually did make me involuntarily gag when I read it.

For the time being Hawk & Dove should just be Hawk, what with Dove kicking the bucket!

Wasn't sure if that was going to stick, but I should've remembered how it happened in the comics.

Made the appropriate update.

Gotham's in New York State, across the Hudson from NYC. Think of it as if Brooklyn and Queens never existed in UDC and Gotham takes up the space of the two boroughs.

The dirty rotten homeless bastard is correct.

Have a feeling MB is gonna be pissed because I cut the Flash/Rogue fight early, but I'm sorry, man. Had to be done. Been over two weeks since my last post and it's been dragging on way too long. Trusty's waiting on me with Turtle and something had to be done to move it forward.

My apologies, gents. My production across the RPGs has been down but especially so in this one. It's just been easy to neglect UDC because it's in a bit of a lull right now. Carnage, I'll get a Supergirl post up tomorrow, but I had to address my tardiness as Catwoman first.

Yeah, I apologize for being MIA too. I've been incredibly busy with school between tests and labs. I'll get my act together soon.

I, too, have slacked off in recent weeks.

The difference? I have fictional gadgets to make up for it.

I have been slacking off as well. :csad:
Will try to have a Bane and Superman post up tonight or tomorrow.

Seems like everyone had a little fall behind, lord knows i did but im trying to get back on the ball as well.

Has there been anything said or done with the Sacred Order of Saint Dumas?

It's been mentioned as a cultist religious faction that Jean-Paul Valley was apart of until he became one of The Joker's henchmen.

Well okay. Reason why i ask it because i was just going to mention it in one of my up coming post. It is something i plan to use down the line.

*straps on bulletproof vest*

Gents, I'm dropping Harvey Dent. (Though, at this point, I don't know if it counts as dropping because I'm probably over the limit and on the chopping block, anyway.) I can't justify playing a character that I can't bring myself to solo arc with, and, frankly, I enjoy being a spectator to MB's work, and I think he'll do a fine job with Harvey. Better than I could, no doubt.

Secondly, there's another character I left hanging in the breeze, and it's time I give him his due.

THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG
Character Application

.Character you wish to portray: Oliver Queen / Green Arrow

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Hero.

.Powers and physical attributes: Ollie has trained his body to peak athleticism and strength. He's a formidable hand-to-hand combatant and a skilled swordsman. His greatest accomplishment, however, is in his marksmanship. Ollie is the master of the bow and arrow, in all its forms. He has incredible eyesight and unnatural skill with projectiles.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Oliver Queen was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His parents, Robert and Laura Queen, were billionaire socialites. Robert founded Queen Industries, an electronics and telecommunications manufacturing company based in Star City. The Queens were jetsetters and were always at an emotional distance from Ollie. Nonetheless, Ollie was crushed when his parents died in a plane crash on their way back from a business trip.

According to Robert's will, Ollie was set to inherit majority shares and a controlling interest in Queen Industries when he was old enough. In the meantime, the day-to-day operations fell to Connor Hawke, one of Robert Queen's advisers. Ollie bounced from boarding school to boarding school. It was during this time that he was introduced to the art of archery. A natural talent, Ollie excelled, winning many archery competitions against his peers.

When Ollie turned eighteen, he returned to Star City to claim his father's empire. Connor Hawke, however, was unwilling to let it go. Knowing that Ollie had established a reputation for himself as a playboy and a bit of a wild child, Hawke planted drugs in Ollie's penthouse and had him framed. Oliver Queen was arrested and sent to prison for eight years.

Ollie spent his time in prison formulating a plan for clearing his name and claiming his birthright. Urged on by an anonymous pen pal, Ollie trained his body and mind for the mission to come. Upon being paroled, Ollie donned the mantle of Green Arrow to give back to Star City and to expose Connor Hawke as a fraud.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I enjoyed my time as Green Arrow, but I was distracted. I didn't get as much accomplished as I hoped or planned. Ollie still hasn't dealt with Connor Hawke. He still hasn't reunited with his pen pal. He hasn't crossed paths with Arsenal, who's running around somewhere in Star City. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Also, as the Justice League still isn't a concrete organization, there's still time for Ollie to throw his hat into the ring.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Well, Ollie wasn't stranded on a desert island. He was stranded in prison. He didn't develop his archery skills out of necessity. He developed them as a pastime activity for the rich and privileged. He's much younger, and as of yet he has no political aspirations.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Reliability and character depth. Of my many regrets about my previous stint(s) as Green Arrow, one of them is that I never took the time to flesh out Ollie like I did with Selina.

.Provide a short sample post as your desired character, in three paragraphs or more:

The Full House Bar is the crowning jewel of Star City's nightlife. It's also a hotbed for criminal activity. Mob bosses and assassins are known to frequent this place. All of the illegal gambling in Star City is run out of this nightclub. There have even been rumors about an underground fighting ring that is organized inside these walls. It took my several interrogations and a handful of broken bones, but I finally got a name.

Veronica Sinclair. Better known as Roulette. She's the owner of the Full House Bar, and judging by how hard I needed to work to get just that information, I imagine Roulette's a major player in Star City's underground. Even if she's not directly involved in any criminal activity, she's the person responsible for keeping the Full House a safe haven for criminals, and that implicates her in the shady dealings going on inside those walls.

Unfortunately for me, with Oliver Queen's reputation and criminal record, I can't be seen choosing to spend my time at the Full House - not if I ever want to clear my name, anyway. Also unfortunately, Green Arrow doesn't make the guest list for these kinds of places. But, of course, there are ways around that.

I run up to the bouncer, who's slumped against the wall, holding the arrow protruding from his shoulder. "Don't move it," I say sternly. "You're liable to just do more damage to yourself. The authorities will be here shortly. They can take care of that." I pat him on the opposite shoulder. "Very sorry about that. I know you're just doing your job, but so am I."

I push open the doors and enter the Full House, bow strung over my shoulder. Between the strobe lights and the pounding music, it's almost impossible to focus in here. I don't think my archery skills are going to be much use in these conditions. Looks like I'm going to do this the old-fashioned way.

I'd be a little more peeved about the loss of a PC Dent if you weren't such a good Ollie. As it stands, I'm just glad you've kept a consistency with Catwoman for this long. :oldrazz:

Green Arrow is hereby...
