Nah. Tobey has this meek little voice and it made Spider-Man seem more like a kitten rather than a tiger, you know?
Watching Asa, he's good with his quips...in a cool sort of way, you know? He's very humorous, but it's dry. He doesn't go overboard. But would that effect his performance? Who knows? Asa is somebody I'd easily buy as the intellectual, nerdy outcast...wise cracking superhero? There's little, not nothing at all, to suggest it...but maybe he can. For someone like Dylan O'Brien, he wouldn't have to act, he'd just be himself, and that's why he's easy to picture. But I have in Asa. He's a good actor, and he can be funny. All he has to do is act that he's hilarious and convey it in such a way that it's believable...and if Marvel and Sony have seen this and bought it enough to cast him, then that's all the better for us!
But daying that. Spidey cracks jokes, and of course, as it wouldn't be too hard to guess...if the actor's delivery isn't humorous...then it'll be a total disaster.
Asa cracking jokes in a dry manner...nope. Wouldn't work.
