I hope not. My favorite game storyline was FFVIII. And I really enjoyed FFIX even though I thought the climax was somewhat of a let down.

For sheer playing enjoyment, FFX was the best.

I'm playing FFVII right now and while the story is cool as hell, the gameplay and graphics are aracaic.

FF8 consumed my life for a week! X-2 I found quite fun to play atb bars just make it more intense for me since i lack coordination

I agree with Gammy... FF IV and VI all the way... although I love VII and VIII... IX dissapointed me in the end... I only hate the FF blacksheep that is online...(I refuse to call it 11) Final fantasy is supposed to be an anti-social experiene...

Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī?) is a series of computer and console role-playing games produced by Square Enix (originally Square Co., Ltd.). It may be the most widely distributed game series of all time, including standard console role-playing games, portable games, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, games for mobile phones, three anime productions, and two full length CGI films.

The first installment of the series premiered in Japan on December 18, 1987, and Final Fantasy games have subsequently been localized for markets in North America, Europe and Australia, on numerous video game consoles, including the Nintendo Entertainment System, the MSX 2, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the PlayStation, the WonderSwan Color, the PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox 360 as well as IBM PC compatible computers and several different models of mobile phones. Future installments have been announced to appear on the Nintendo DS, Wii, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 3 game systems. It is Square Enix's most successful franchise, and the third biggest selling video game franchise of all time, having sold over 63 million units worldwide to date.

As of June 2006, twelve games have been released in Japan as part of the main (numbered) series, along with many spinoffs and related titles. Final Fantasy XII (ファイナルファンタジーXII, Fainaru Fantajī Towerubu?) is a console role-playing game produced by Square Enix for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console. The game was released on March 16, 2006, in Japan. The North American release is scheduled for October 31, 2006 [3]. The European and Australian releases are unknown at this time, although some websites have their dates listed as December 12th as the release date. On November 15, 2005, a playable demo of the game was shipped with the North American release of Dragon Quest VIII. Though not a direct sequel to any previous Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XII features several concepts introduced in the Final Fantasy Tactics series.

Yasumi Matsuno, originally announced as both producer and director, was forced to bow out of both roles midway through production due to health concerns. In his place, Hiroyuki Ito and Hiroshi Minagawa took over directorial duties, with Akitoshi Kawazu assuming the role of the executive producer. Matsuno remains credited for "Original Work/Scenario Plot/Supervision". Hitoshi Sakimoto was the music composer for the game, and series veteran Nobuo Uematsu contributed one new composition — the vocal theme, "Kiss Me Good-Bye", performed by Angela Aki. Renowned violinist Taro Hakase provided performances for Symphonic Poem "Hope", which served as a promotional theme along with "Kiss Me Good-Bye".

On March 16, 2006, Final Fantasy XII became only the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from the prestigious Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, as well as the first Final Fantasy game and the first PlayStation 2 title to do so. It is also the second Yasumi Matsuno title to garner a perfect score, the first being Vagrant Story [4]. The game has also been critically acclaimed by many reviewers outside of Japan already on sites such as GamesAreFun[5], Deeko[6], and Eurogamer[7].

Square Enix officially confirmed that the game will be available in North America on October 31, 2006. The game will be available in two versions — the standalone game (with an MSRP of $49.99) and a "Collector's Edition" for an additional $10. This edition includes the game packaged in a steel case along with a variety of trailers and featurettes about the Final Fantasy series.[8]

Final Fantasy sucks.

Indeed it does. FFVII is the worst game ever made. Cloud and Sepheroth are the worset characters ever created, although Tidus is a close third.

But I do enjoy FF1, but only because 8-bit theatre takes away some of the black hole of suck that the words Final Fantasy and Squeenix automatically bring.
