I've bought the games earlier than VII but haven't played them yet. Of the ones that I have played my order of preference goes:

1. VIII
2. X
3. VII
4/5. X2/IX - I never finished either of these.

I love the Final Fantasy games, especially VII and X. FFVIII was pretty good, but the story is too coincidental at times and seems tacky even though Squall's mumbling consists of the some of the most clever and funniest lines I've ever heard and his "lone wolf" play with other characters is simply awesome.

I've never played a single FF game. I've played Kingdom Hearts,which had FF characters.

Highly confusing. So much controls an stuff to memorize... but in fairness I didn't read the manual yet.

I started out with the tutorial first and only got to play a small portion of the game itself.

I was facing a boss(I think it was a boss) when I RAN OUT OF AMMO. Yes, I ran out of ammo. What's more stupid, is that the "Dragon Flyer" was shooting down at me and I couldn't do anything. There was no ammo in sight. I couldn't do a thing. That's when I gave up and logged on to the Hype.

So far the game's okay.

Ahh, do you mean the looooonnnnggggg cut scene that you can't skip. Yeah, I agree.

I'm waiting for the perfect game... FFXII remade for the PS3 -- Great Story + the Graphics it deserves.

Although I may have to wait a very long time... *sigh*

Why would XII be remade? I hasn't even been released once yet in the States. Unless you mean VII..

That fight went pretty well for me. I think I may have got myself around on the sphere grid by that point though. My characters were mighty spectacular by the end of the game. Particularly with their final weapons.

Play the original. You'll get over the graphics.
