I would say X as well, but obviously not to the extent of VII and XIII.

XIII is extra bad though. Square milked VII, because for better or worse, it was hugely popular game and people ****ing love it. With XIII they were obviously trying to manufacture that same level of enthusiasm and adoration, and I think people saw right through it.

Yeah, I guess you could argue X. It was the first game to get a direct sequel and all, and now the HD remasters coming out.

I wouldn't say they are milking FFX to death. It was the first game to get a direct sequel but they put that game in the vault after that for 10 years and they are only now bringing it back and only as an updated port for the current gen, not a brand new experience or new adventures of the game. It hasn't gotten movies, portable spinoffs, prequels, etc... 2 games is hardly milking a game

It's funny that after all these years, FF7 still divides the 'CORE' fan base while it's still beloved by the populous. Is it an aggression due to the fact it gets more attention than FF VI? And I recognize that VI might be the stronger game, but I'll be damned. AFter all these years!

I don't know. And people have every right to think that way...But to me, FF7 changed MY LIFE.

Final Fantasy VII in a vacuum is great, but after a certain point I started having a hard time separating the game from all the sequels, prequels, spinoffs, and it's obnoxious fanbase.

Eh, I don't let that sort of stuff bother me. Besides, who else remembers that Vincent Valentine game anyway? Which was a missed opportunity by the way..

See I never got into any of that crap. So to me it is still just VII, and it is truly an epic masterpiece.

I go back and forth between IV, VI, and VII as which is my favorite, but there is no denying the effect VII had on the industry. I still love it. Lately the past few years I've been going back and playing a lot of the old classics. Like a few years ago I went through VII and IV. Now I'm trying to go through VI and VIII. Sad that I still have more fun playing any of these then anything beyond X.

For me, it's got nothing to do with the aggression factor or the division factor. It's really just as simply as I don't think it's as great as a lot of others do. It is good, yeah, and I was there when it was first released, so I understand the splash it made at the time.

But goddamn, I don't see what the big continuing deal about it is. I don't know why people go on and on about it having a remake, a big budget next gen remake anyway. It's really that simple for me. It's a good game, maybe even great, but I've never been pumping that train like some people have.

Of course, like I said, my favorite FF game is, no contest, FFX-2, so I'm not exactly what you call a regular FF fan anyway.

Dammit Tron Bonne, no one likes FFX-2. It's the girly dressup game of the FF series!

Nah, I kid. I played it. Wasn't a big fan of it. The story wasn't bad but felt kinda forced by the end. The dress sphere system did annoy the heck out of me though and they destroyed Blitzball.

With all of this FF stuff coming out it may actually convince me to get a PS3. There's only a few games that I might want but the Xbox gold fees are driving me nuts with all the ads and it's mandatory for netflix. I'd probably drop gold and get the standard PS stuff.

I loved the dress sphere. Loved it. I. Ate. That. ****. Up.

And really, I just loved the style of it, the whimsy. It felt unique, and it felt like it had a soul that it wasn't afraid to show. That's something you don't get from a lot of games.

X-2 was a great title. Cant wait to play it again. I remember being really intrigued with the story and wanting to know what the deal was with Yuna/Tidus and their doppelgangers back when it was released.

Random question about Final Fantasy 12:

Were Balthier and Fran romantically linked? I think it's a shame that this was never fully explored. I thought it would've been a given.
