Supergirl The Official Alexandra "Alex" Danvers/Chyler Leigh Thread

Apparently Chyler has found a new friend. But there is a message to this and it might make you shed a tear. From her Instagram...it's her and Chris Wood's dog Drift.

In the wake of a turbulent week... Love is always the best medicine. This is Drift. Drift is a my friend. He came up to me the other night and insisted on this hug. He knew I needed one. And I accepted.
Accept love when you need it, Friends. You deserve to be valued and treated with respect and we all need a shoulder to lean on sometimes. Thank you @christophrwood for introducing me to this (not so) little gentleman and bringing to our home on set. I do love him so. (Don’t know if me or #AlexDanvers needed this more) #puppylove #evenabadassneedsahug

The power of animals, friends. They know. Memo to Chris Wood, you have trained your dog very well.

Chris' mom raised him well.....

I think the writers have forgotten all of season 1.

In season 2 episode 14 "Homecoming" there was a quick shot of a sign that read:

Lord
Technologies
Active Test Range

I tried to post a screen shot but got a message that the file was too big. I tried to shrink it down a few times but gave up on this silly site's restrictions. If anyone knows a way around this I will post it.

Anyway Lord Technologies still exists in the CW world even though Max Lord's name has never been spoken yet.

Is Chyler Danvers's real name pronounced Chyler Lee or Chyler Lay?

Chyler Lee....

Really? I've been pronouncing it Chyler Lay all this time.

Have you watched any of the interviews and panels from SDCC that we have posted? They have all pronounced her name Chyler Lee.....

I don't recall watching them. Or maybe for the panel ones I just skipped to the part where she was speaking already so missed the introductions.

I have to laugh at Emily Andras, the showrunner of Wynonna Earp, joking about stealing Chyler away at Clexacon.

Emily Andras has talked S*** about Supergirl on Twitter since day one. Not sure Chyler would give her the time of day.

I can't even lie, I've been pronouncing it the exact same all this time. Up until reading the new replies in this thread I had no idea I had it wrong. :funny:

Aren’t you a Brit? And doesn’t the name/spelling “Leigh” have British/English origins? That would mean that the British pronunciation - “lee” - prevails, no? (Analogously, “Gloucester” has only two syllables - so say the folks who live in Gloucester. :word:)

“Lea,” OTOH, seems to be more contentious. Sometime “lee” is the correct pronunciation. But “lee-ah” is very common too.

You are right Leigh is a place in Lancashire and the word means meadow. And it's not as if it's not been the surname of some big name actresses in the past - Vivien Leigh,Janet Leigh and Jennifer Jason.

Anyway it's both her and her brother's middle names (well one of his -Kristopher Kayman Lee in his case ) .Their actual surname is Potts and their dad is a Sydneysider .

"tramp stamp" ??

That’s what those lower back tattoos are often called, unfortunately.

Yes, I've heard the term.....surprised I'm reading here however.

I haven't heard the term in a while, it was a tattoo placement that got associated with girls that give it up easily, maybe because a lot of strippers and porn chicks had them.

A tattoo on a woman’s lower back is called a “tramp stamp”. I think came about because that’s not a place men typically get tattooed. The term came into fashion in the late 90s early 00s, probably when Chyler got it. It coincided with the navel ring trend.
