Nathan West is her husband, they've been married for 15 years and have three kids.

You remember the picture of Melissa holding that cute baby otter? Well, all things being equal...Chyler has gotten in on the "otterly" cuteness on her Instagram...

Yeah...she is very close to her husband's family from what I can tell from interviews....I don't think she is very close to her mom. But, I know that his family, from what she has said, really got her through some very tough times.

Chyler not close to her mom? It's like me not being close at all with my father. But thank God she has her in-laws.

Her parents broke up when she was young and he went off and had another family (she has an number of half siblings) who she doesn't have anything to do with .
Her mother re married her 1st husband and moved her and Kris from Virginia to Miami and turned into the worst kind of stage mom .Chyler got made to model (which he hated )and fell in to acting when she started get commercials .The Kick Boxing Academy thing then happened .
Her mom then dragged them out to LA when Kris was doing Power Rangers and Chyler was emancipated and then on drugs within 2 years of getting there .She has said that apart from a brief attempt at a reconciliation when her oldest 2 kids were born she hasn't spoken to her since she was 17.

Interesting thing is about the whole saga is the woman who was her acting coach in Miami came out with her and her mom to LA and ended up being her agent (she still is)

She did once in the first season, and once in the second season.....and it looks like at least once in the 3rd season at the WestAllen wedding....

Was that the episode with Maxwell Lord? I wish he would show up again and clash with Morgan Edge and Lena Luthor. They seem to have forgotten he existed.

I think the writers have forgotten all of season 1.

Probably actor availability, though it wouldn't kill them to write some acknowledgment of his absence into the show.

I still say they look at S2/The CW version of the show as a soft reboot, ala The Incredible Hulk. They vaguely mention things from S1 as if its some unseen backstory, but any elements they aren't able/planning to bring back (like Kara's office! Or Cadmus being part of the government!), they just pretend never existed.

The only character from the S1 that was brought back in the 2nd season was Livewire.

I imagine they'll bring the occasional character back, but yeah, they definitely used season 2 as a soft reboot. For which I applaud them, as much as there is stuff I don't like in season 2, most of the stuff they quietly dropped from season 1, was dropped for damn good reasons.

Wasn't it said somewhere the Lucy Lane is running the DEO facility in the cave? And General Lane was mentioned in an episode this season. I assume characters like Non and Silver Banshee are
in some prison and Indigo is in some lab somewhere. So Max Lord is about the only major character from season one that is still being ignored.

Just listened to a interview with Chyler about getting the part of Alex and she apparently was in talks with Warner to play Chloe in Lucifer at the same time

I think they were better off going with Lauren German. She does befuddled so well. I can't really see Chyler Leigh playing befuddled and half the fun of Lucifer is Chloe's reaction to Lucifer's antics.

And, I am glad Chyler is here playing Alex. I rather like Alex.

(I like Chloe too. But, I don't know if I will like Chloe if Alex was Chloe.)
