So do people think he could be Darren Cross? That's the only Ant-Man villain I can think of, and the trades say last 'male' lead.

This is such trolly casting on Marvel's part, heh.

ETA: I'm blanking on the name of the baddie who got Scott Lang to steal the Ant-Man costume in EMH. I thought it was Cross but I could be wrong?

you and chamber-music got it right. it was kind of a tweaked version of William Cross aka Crossfire aka Darren's cousin. they made him older for the animated series and a mobster type. in the books, he's just a sociopathic rogue CIA operative with a fancy cybernetic eye.

fun fact: Moon Knight and Cross used to work together back when they were CIA operatives

If only. But how can they pull off that switch in the movie? It's one thing to have the Mandarin just be an actor. It's another to have something similar to Tony Stark being the Mandarin and Ben Kingsley actually being Tony Stark.

i wasn't implying that the switch would take place during the movie. i meant that shortly before they start shooting, Wright would do an interview in which he reveals that it was a ruse all along. he was just toying with the rumor mill; like when people were jumping at the idea of Simon Pegg being Ant-Man because he pointed at the character on a poster. the rest of it would just be news sources playing along (or being duped themselves). remember that Michael Douglas was originally (and erroneously) reported to be the villain of the movie.

I think you're reaching. A lot of people wanted to see Patrick Wilson as Pym so they're trying to find any way possible that he could be Pym(including flashbacks when he doesn't look anything like Michael Douglas) when chances are he's just playing another character altogether.

i'm expecting at least one quick scene like that; in the final fight scene or after the credits. but i could also see Wright saving himself a headache and letting someone like Whedon introduce that wrinkle. the technology is there (Watchmen).
