no clue. the plot is probably going to be something unguessable. my hunch? Pym arranges for Scott to steal the Ant-Man costume or, at least, takes advantage of Scott stealing it. i don't think there's ever going to be a time where he loses track of the equipment. i think that's what Wright is referring to when he mentions Hank and Scott teaming up in a machiavellian way. i think Pym's actively looking for a successor or realizes he wants one when fate lands Scott Lang in his lab.

If a black actor is cast that has not appeared in the MCU, that won't stop the website What Culture to guess who that black actor is going to play. And I bet they come up with something stupid like Rage and Triathlon, when we all know that (if there's one cast) that he's Bill Foster.

if he is cast, i hope he's british. i can't explain it. but not having a british actor in this Edgar Wright movie is disappointing. i have a short list.

How long was Hank Pym Ant-Man?

Why is there no mention of Pym and his Particles in the MCU previously?

Who are the villains?

How many Ant-Man suits will there be?

If Janet is in the movie what is her relationship with Pym and Lang if there is one?

Who are the villains and what is there plan?

What exactly is the heist for and where is it taking place?

What will happen to Pym at the end of the film after he passes the Ant-Man mantle to Lang?

Will any other Marvel heroes or McGuffins make an appearance?

Wasn't there a Detective hired by Pym to find out who was stealing his suit? If so, might Wilson or Stoll be that guy?

Cassie Lang's stepfather Blake is a cop so perhaps he plays a larger role in the movie.

Pym also had a FBI buddy called Lee Kearns who was mentioned and appeared in a couple of Tales To Astonish Ant-Man/Giant-Man stories. Kearns is a supporting they could revive for the movie.

I think your right

Pym never lost track of his Ant-Man suit when Lang stole it in the comics and the fact they team up to possibly pull off a heist makes me think Pym will have an agenda Lang may not be fully aware of.

I think the fact Edgar is calling Ant-Man his American movie with a mostly American cast and setting for an American studio means there probably won't be many British actors in the film.

I think Edgar is committed to working with actors he hasn't worked with before right now. If the film was being shot in the UK like it was originally going to then I think we might of seen more of Wright's regular British actor casting choices.

some modest attempts at answering them (or at least making my own wishes known).

1. Cold War era secret agent - I'm going to guess at a decade long career ended abruptly by a nervous breakdown; triggered by the murder of his wife

2. I'm betting that Maria's death leads to a crisis of confidence - she may have even been murdered as retaliation for something he did as a government operative - maybe, against his better wishes she came along with him on one of his missions; them being vacationing newly-weds as a cover story

3. his activities were classified & Pym went into seclusion; Jan basically serving as a link to the outside world

4. Castillo - White Power Dave - beyond that, your guess is as good as mine; probably Elias Starr-in-name-only or some hybrid of the Cross brothers - Corey Stoll or Patrick Wilson will serve as Castillo's American liason; overseeing whatever their operation is from the other side

5. two (classic ant-man and the newer model that gets stolen) - and probably a prototype of the Wasp suit

6. estranged daughter or ward of Pym - initial antagonist to/chaperone of Scott Lang but softening on him towards the end; eventual crime fighting partner

7. Castillo's regime is funded, at least in part, by criminal enterprise; drug smuggling, arms dealing, sex trade, and/or organ harvesting. perhaps one of Pym's inventions would increase the efficiency of this operation. Pym particles are certainly useful in smuggling. Castillo would be aware of their function through a past encounter w/ Pym. I'm also almost certain that Castillo had a personal hand in Maria's death. if "Egghead" is actually present, he did gain notoriety for selling nuclear secrets to the commies. maybe something similar will be the target.

8. Lang is identified as a potential pawn in prison. Castillo's contacts leverage him into stealing one of Pym's inventions (or a sample of Pym particles); from a seemingly abandoned but well-guarded lab. when he succeeds at this, they get it in their heads to aim for larger targets.

9. he plays the same role as Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond.

10. not unless it happens post-credits. S.H.I.E.L.D is defunct. so I doubt Fury or Coulson are going to show up. I could maybe see Lang showing up at Stark Industries for an interview, though. the guest-star would be the Stark logo in that particular case. or maybe Pym would have a meeting with Selvig.

Adrian Lester is a underrated actor. I think if Lester wasn't so committed to theatre work he could of been in more movies.

I don't think I've ever seen Lenny James in a movie or TV show in which he isn't either a cop or survivor in some post apocalyptic world.

I kind of hope Pym gets de-aged some how at the end of the movie by one of Marvels Macguffins a variation of the Infinity Formula or a Infinity stone/gem even though I know its probably not going to happen.

that's possible. i was just paying homge to his origin story; the part where he goes a little nutty after Maria is killed. but that preceded him becoming Ant-Man in the books. it could be that he suspected that SHIELD had been infiltrated and simply couldn't trust anyone. paranoia is another of Pym's prominent traits.

I don't know if it was his first appearance because I don't often watch the AA. No Janet. Ant-Man already knew Iron Man. Pym seemed to be less of a team player and have a snarky personality in the episode.

i only watched the first 15 minutes of it; before going to work. i was confused as to why he and Hawkeye had such a grudge (maybe Clint flirted with Jan or something). i also kept listening for them to refer to him as Pym. i must have missed it. it does look like the movie suit from the teaser footage (at least). this cartoon isn't as fun as Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

i probably didn't get to that part of it. but Scott worked with ants too. and he has a lab. i imagine that they didn't name him because of potential confusion with the movie-verse. i don't know why they bother. the Earth's Mightiest cartoon handled it a lot better; just having Pym pass the torch and become Yellowjacket.

no one's saying. they are more tight-lipped about this movie than Trank's Fantastic Four. Douglas did say that he'd be down for making multiple appearances.

I just figured it was due to what Ant mentioned of Clint spending a day in his own "smelly boot"? Perhaps he got shrunk by accident and Hawkeye got pissed? Lol. Atleast that's how I look at it.

I thought it might of been a homage to Clint and Pym's hostility in the old Avengers comics when Pym returned to the team as Goliath.

The general consensus is that it isn't very good and nowhere near as good as A:EMH.

Are you talking about in the comics? I don't recall Clint having any more issue with Pym than any of the other Avengers. Hawkeye used to be one of the Avengers Pym was tightest with in the comics with Pym helping out Clint during his own marriage issues with Mockingbird back in the West Coast Avengers series. Clint also supported Pym when he got set up by Egghead's Master Of Evil and saved Pym's life. Clint killed Egghead which he got a Avengers court martial trial and was defended by Pym.
