Damn right.

I never got guys (black, white, whatever race) who go like "I don't find (insert race) girls attractive.

I always think theyre nuts for that

It's probably due to s lack of exposure. Most well traveled people probably know every ethnicity has extremely hot women.

I personally like british black women.

I think it's fine to have racial preferences for who you date. So long as it's your decision and not your family.
Once you hit your 20s and 30s, would that really be your family's decision?

you'd be surprised how many people care about what their family says in terms of who they date/marry

Which reminds me of the classic "My family isn't racist. But I wouldn't bring a black girl home to my family"

I'm guessing it's those real "traditional" families.

You'd be surprised. We use to have a friend and asked her about expanding her dating circle and when we brought up minorities, she was like, noooo, I couldn't bring him home. She was in her late 20s at the time.

Hmmm, I've never known a guy who wasn't black that had a problem bringing a black woman home to his parents.

It's usually bringing a black guy home to the parents that becomes a problem.

I don't.

It also just kinda bugs me when my white friends tell me things like that. I mean...what am I suppose to do with that? Why are you telling me things like this? It's also like when they talk about their racist grandparents.
I just don't care to hear about that

i date women!! white, black, green mutant and even some that i am pretty sure was INHUMAN!( well as for their thought processes anyway!)hehe

I think when you have racist family members it becomes a no win situation, unless you just never had close ties with them. A racist mother is like the ultimate lose-lose for a black guy. We love us some mama.

I remember watching Uhura's green roommate or that blue Twilek Jedi and I'm like, yeah I'd hit that.

Yeah, if you're a black man your mother is the ONLY opinion that matters.

Eh I don't really care about my mother's opinion on who I date. Or really that much at all really.

I'm my own person and a grown ass man I can't live my life based on my mother or father's opinions/expectations. I set those for myself

Otherwise youre just a momma's boy/daddy's boy (is "daddy's boy" a thing?)

Yea my current girl is pale white. Last ex was black. Just find someone you're compatible with. I learned as a young man do what makes you happy. My parents once didn't think my girl was as hot as I could do, but she made me happy and their opinions seeped in my head and I eventually lost her. Last time I'll ever let anyone on this earth dictate who I date. Just do what makes you happy.

I love my mother, but if I decide to do something or date someone, her opinion doesn't mean ****.

Which is a whole other issue...a lot of black dudes are mama's boys. Has more to do with her being the single parent raising them in the hood and what not.

Which is somewhat understandable, but still kind of weird (IMO).

Because black men are married to the game, Bill.

They're married to the game.

I had both parents actively involved in my life growing up and I love my Mom immensely but her opinion on my dating life is inconsequential. She also needed to make peace with my decision to be childfree.

I just find that so stupid, regardless of race, that people who let their parents run their lives even after they "grow up"

Of course it's not bad to ask your parents for advice but worrying about their opinions too much is unhealthy.

But then that's people who actually care. There are a lot of people who say they care about their parents opinion but keep on with some nonsense

I mean, if you're relying on $$ from your parents for a wedding, then you might have a problem on your hands.

I stayed in the closet for 28 years because I was worried about my parents' opinions. The black Christian community can be pretty hard on the gays.
