So, does anyone actually know when the trailer will be released? Or is it all speculation at this point?

Just speculation. We're all hoping it comes out early next week, and that seems to be the most likely time that it'll come out.

I wonder if Sony will decide to show the trailer before The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which got pushed back from Dec 21 to Dec 20 to avoid competition from other films during the Christmas holiday.

I'm pretty sure the trailer will come Tuesday or on Sunday, Christmas Day.

No trailer with Sherlock:( BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It doesn't matter

a) If it's not rated yet

and

b) that it isn't a WB movie.

Only certain trailers are attached to movie prints while the theater owners can add trailers themselves. I had MIB3 with my Sherlock last night...which is a Sony movie. TDKR prlogue was with MI4 which is a Paramount movie.

A trailer has to be rated to be put into a theater. And I know that, but the chances are slimmer.

With TDKR being released around the same time as TASM, why would WB allow Sony to attach TASM's trailer with it, forcing TDKR to share its spotlight with TASM?

Besides, I don't think anybody thought that the trailer for TASM would even be with that.

It does not have to be rated. Movie trailers show all the time 'not yet rated'. If that is what you are talking about which I assume.

Why would WB allow MIB3 to be shown with it? Because WB has no say with what trailers are played in front of a movie other than what trailer is physically attached to the movie print. Theater owners can play a Toy Story trailer in front of SAW86 if they wanted to. They don't because it doesn't make sense. It's also why a lot of times you can go to a different theater and watch the same movie and get totally different trailers other than 1 or 2 that are attached to the movie playing.

Film not being rated =/= Film trailer not being rated

This happens often where I live. Still haven't seen the TASM trailer in the cinema because of that. :\

And anyways, the second trailer for TASM hasn't been rated yet... so that's how pretty much everyone knew that it wouldn't be with Sherlock Holmes 2. Or any movie that has just recently been released.

Right...which is why I assumed he was talking about the movie. He didn't say the trailer wasn't rated so I thought he was talking about the movie.:cwink: Also...are trailers rated or are they approved? I can't remember. I think all trailers have to be PG13 or below yes? The only R trailers are red band trailers and you can't show those in theaters or on tv.

OH NO! That trailer is way better when you see it in 3D at the cinema. I got to see it with Cap when that first released.

You can see the red band trailers...

They're attached to a movie that's appropriate for that rating.

Trailers are in fact rated.

Usually they are rated G but they can be rated PG-13 or Red-Band depending on the movie its promoting or the movie its being shown before as well as for its content, which is obvious and as well depend on what I mentioned before.

^Exactly. I'm surprised why people even think that it'll be with that.
