Another treat from David Lea.

THAT PICTURE IS SO DARK AND COLORLESS WHO FILMED THIS S*** ZACH SNyDER?!?!?!?

burton made bland batman movies. you can't even tell he was the director when you watch batman returns, because this movie has no soul.

Does anybody else agree that the scene in which Bruce visits Vicki's apartment (when he tries to tell her that he's really Batman) hottest/sexiest look that she had in the movie? I don't know how to properly explain it other than that black dress really serves her body well. And of course, her legs (every movie w/ Kim Basinger should require her to wear black pumps and black pantyhose) are unbelievable. I can't help but salivate at that shot of Vicki slinkily walking towards the door when unbeknownst to her, the Joker and his crew are waiting. I guess what helps is that Kim looks both sexy and elegant/classy at the same time (if that makes sense).

:funny:

But, yes, she did look good in that scene. The whole design of the movie merged 80's kitsch, Art Deco and Neo Gothic into a very effective style, and Vicki embodied the first two elements really well there.

That was the genius of the lighting in B89. The shadows and darkness enhanced Batman's mysterious and phantom like aura. Amazing shots they captured.
That was lost in BR, but I suppose that was due to him being more of an open presence.

Here here good sir.

3 of my favorite examples of the lighting.

That last one being the best I think. Especially the way it was done in the movie. Simply out of nowhere Batman descends on the criminal scum, epic theme playing and all. It's no wonder as a kid during that scene, I use to get up and cheer.:woot:

Batman's two appearances on high catwalks during the Axis Chemicals sequence- the first when he hangs the goon from the batrope, the second where he escapes using the smoke pellet- are two of my favourites.

from this angle I realized something that never occurred to me before. This cowl really favors the original 1939 comic book cowl quite a bit from a pure profile standpoint. Very awesome.

Yeah it does make sense.

Not creepy at all.

Regarding Kim Basinger, yeah man she was smoking hot in the 80's, I usually don't favor blondes that much but there were few exceptions (Olivia Newton-John being the other) that for a 13 year old was quite shocking.

I'd only seen Kim in the corny comedy My Stepmother Is An Alien and before that in the hot steamy 9 1/2 Weeks.

dumb question time: did Keaton ever drive the Batmobile in the 2 films he was in, or was it all done by a stunt driver?

What scene is it where Nicholson’s makeup is getting on his coat?

His coat was black in that scene. It was the same rather natty double-breasted, high-collared number he wore as Jack Napier.

So they just threw the purple dye on the same jacket?

It was because his white makeup had rubbed off onto the purple jacket. So they put some boot polish on the jacket to cover it, and it rubbed onto him in one of the takes, which happened to be the take that Tim and editor Ray Lovejoy used....
