Damn! Is that supposed to be final act Batman since he's all beat up?
So I take it you don't really like this movie?
I had thought about getting the 89 suit emblem on my bicep for some time. I have an on and off relationship with tattoos.
I don't think that's why Alfred even did it. He just genuinely messed up because he did not realize Bruce had told her some line about a trip. You can tell by the way he says it that he doesn't know what she means and just casually corrects her on it with a big friendly smile.
As a Batman fan it was also something that didn't sit right with me because Alfred would never give Bruce such bad advice. He'd be the first to warn Bruce to think long and hard before he tells anyone his Batman secrets. Especially with women he barely knows. No matter how 'nice' they seem. Trust has to be earned. Vicki didn't do anything to warrant it yet.
Everything you said 100% and Alfred should be in on it, or be wise enough to get in on it.
Vicki brings up the trip
Alfred knows of no trip "Ahh yes our trip, we will get back to you after that"
and if they want to then show Alfred go confront Bruce about this lie, then sure.
Just to give an update on the third Burton film I'm going for, because I find myself going back and inserting things I thought would sound good when read aloud
I've been studying two different things: The Dark Knight Returns and Batman Beyond -- while taking care not stray too far from Burton's creation.
The shift in Keaton's Batman from what he was in BR to this, I had to make it as dramatically effective as I possibly could. Because he's no longer the same man.
He's aged and with that, advanced... His Batman is now a complete phantom, gaining back the aura of mystery that he lost to the world when he decided to go public in B89. That, as I've written, was the Bruce Wayne persona wanting to be acknowledged for his presence in some capicity, even under the guise of Batman, and he feels that was a mistake - as he explains to Terry. It allowed Gotham, from many angles, to gain an insight into the creature's humanity.
The Batman Beyond suit, is designed for a specific purpose - with the blood-red symbol, the cape of the same colour, the red eyes, the window to the mouth being covered - it's to discard and play-down the notion of Batman ever being a human.
I realised something when writing and studying the moments of the flying in Batman Beyond: he's too similar to Iron Man... So, what I've done is added a hazy, black smog that surrounds Keaton, generated by the suit as part of the illusion of this new Batman.
And the debut is similar to B89, only this time when he descends, he's more terrifying and monstrous than ever.
And the cape is very much inspired from Dracula's cape... as the movements of Keaton, with his cape draped over his body in B89 and BR, gave me the idea. But the suit will be redesigned once Terry takes over, becoming closer to the original BB suit and the wings only stemming from it when in flight - to his own taste.
Gotham originally started out as being no different to the crime-ridden cesspool of B89, but I changed to being more harmonious and this, for 2 reasons:
1. To demonstrate Keaton's new effectiveness of fear over the city.
2. To display a city that doesn't even need a Batman... but Bruce has no other choice since his old life as BRUCE WAYNE, no longer exists and through it, only the Batman persona functions.
And more disturbingly, he uses his own self-made compound to knock himself out for an entire day, to wake up at night, so he can immediately gear up as Batman.
And I've wrote it in quite a tragic way:
He takes the gear off - revealing just how old and frail he's becoming, even displaying grey, thinning hair and unkempt strands of facial hair![]()
Egad a Batman Beyond costume with a cape?!?!?! But to quote Joker "I miss the cape." Fair to say everyone did. Interesting you get an Iron Man vibe from it, personally I do not but I can see how you can. Overall, sounds GREAT. I look forward to this.
One thing I would like to note, the compound to keep himself knocked out. I get it and see where you're going. It reminded me of Batman: Red Rain, where he is literally nocturnal. He sleeps all day and wakes up in the evening. Not saying to steal from this but the compound sounds a bit silly. People do work jobs where they sleep all day and work all night. Unless, maybe he needs the compound to help him sleep better during the day cause he's not used to that and being old. Cause I can easily buy a young, at his prime, nocturnal Batman who can sleep all day and kick ass all night.
When writing it originally, he appeared in nothing but the BB suit and as I was reading it back I thought, "This is Batman from Batman Beyond, not Keaton's Batman evolved!"
So I wanted to come up with something that paid more homage to the vision Hammer house, phantom-like creature Burton went for, while keeping it advanced. So, I decided to utilise the advanced technology and craft it in ways that would instantly make one think that Batman, this time around, was a literal creature from a horror-tale. I wanted to retain those old qualities, while shifting them into something new and effective.
It was the jet-boots being visible
That's why I added the addition of smog, so it could cloud them as Bruce flew away
To make Bruce's Batman less like this

And (unfortunately I don't have a gif version) more like this - where he ascends in smoke
![]()
I'm using as much of the smoke and shadows as I can, as those were essential features to the Burton-world, only this time, Batman himself IS the smoke and the shadows, as opposed to relying on them now
And the compound? Yeah, I might just drop that. I only wanted to include it to reintroduce, early on, the versatility of Bruce as a scientist, and the disturbing nature of why he's using such a drug.
However, I may rewrite the daily activities as something different. Maybe have him, like he did with Wayne Manor at the fundraiser, obsessively monitor Gotham for any criminal activity, amongst other "Keaton" things![]()
OK now I get it and yeah. He needs to be all Phantom-esque. I alway loved the idea of him turning into fog, a flock of bats and what not, realistic or not, it just fits. I keep expecting Kelley Jones' Batman to do that if I stare long enough.
I like that point on the compound. If you need reasons and help on why he's using such a drug, read Batman: Venom maybe that can help you out, give you some inspiration or influence.
That's what I love about Jones' art

He can Batman look like a true monster. The aim of this version is to make Keaton look like that and more.
I often see that on my Amazon recommendations, but I think I will check it out on Kindle
And I might purchase the vampire tales too, as it might help me lockdown the horrors of Bruce losing his humanity and how it affects those around him.
Excellent!
Haunted Knight is OK, it ain't no Long Halloween or Dark Victory.
I kinda took a hiatus for a while from posting on the Hype boards, but it was calling for me to come back. Those of you that remember my posts recall my avid love for Batman 1989. A few months ago I finally got the piece done that I've been waiting ten plus years to get and I wanted to share it with you guys.
