If they had of kept "the bat must die scene" I feel the opening would have been better.
I don't know... something about that scene felt corny to me.
I bought the official comic adaptation for Batman Forever. It should be here any day now, has anyone read it?

Nostalgia
This movie really was a tour de force of marketing. I don't care much for the film anymore, but I still have SUCH fond memories of it because I just remember all the excitement of the character posters everywhere, the McDonald's cups, the toys, Jim Carrey, the songs on the radio and MTV...you couldn't escape it. I was only 3 for B'89 so I don't really remember Batmania. But Batman Forever had a crazy hype machine.
