Batman Forever The Official Batman Forever Thread - Part 2

Probably the sexiest Kidman ever looked. Today her looks are now a result of plastic surgery and botox. Shame.

You know with the few elements Batman Forever brought in, the Halloween theme, the PTSD flashbacks with Bruce, and so on...I wonder how much better it would be if they took out Two Face and the Riddler and just substituted in the Scarecrow.

^^ I think if you did just that, kept the Grayson story in and brought in some of the rumored ideas for Batman Triumphant (bringing Jack back for hallucinations), you could have yourself a pretty great Batman movie.

Schumacher said on the bluray WB thought Kidman wasn't sexy enough to be in the film...

Prfff! She was very sexy!

She was supposed to play Poison Ivy too! Would have been great too see, though Uma did it great.

I wonder, is there a screenplay for Batman Triumphant online anywhere? I'd love to read it.

This film gave me my crush on Kidman that lasted a couple years…she really was quite stunning at the time.

Nah, I don't/didn't see Kidman as Ivy. I'm glad Kidnan was in Forever than Batman & Robin.

Nope. If Nicole Kidman wasn't in BF I think Schumacher would have chosen her as Ivy instead of Uma Thurman.

Ah, I see.

Well I'm glad she was in BF. She's my favorite Bat love interest

How could she be Ivy? Was Chase supposed to turn evil?

No, there was supposed to be three villains . Riddler, Two-Face and Poison Ivy with Nicole Kidman being Ivy. But Joel felt that would be too many villains, so they had Kidman be the love interest and used Ivy in the next one.

Her character sucked. A shallow hoe. Rene Russo was supposed to take her place in Burton's movie, and i cant see Russo playing such a stupid character. That would have been so much better between her and Keaton without too much of the sexual references and come-ons.

Kilmer did well trying to sell those scenes though.

She was no more of a "shallow hoe" than Rachel Dawes...

Im not the biggest fan of Rachel Dawes but.....really??

I mean, yeah. In TDK, Rachel made out with Bruce in the midst of a relationship (and supposedly being in love) with Harvey.

What did Chase do in BF that really qualifies her as a "shallow hoe"? She had the hots for Batman (the superhero) before ever truly developing a relationship with Bruce, and then ultimately realized it was Bruce she cared for. She even flat-out told Bruce she was interested in "someone" else before every getting romantically involved with him.

All she wants to do is bang Batman the entire movie. I dont see how that's the same as Rachel doing what she was doing as a character with Harvey or Bruce over the course of two films.

Chase did throw herself at Batman, on the roof of Police HQ no less, a supposed professional shrink, after meeting him for 20 seconds previously. The essence of shallow right there.

The only half way decent love interest from this older Batman franchise is Selina.

The thing is that as far as Rachel Dawes character goes, she wasn't really a love interest per se in the conventional way. At least, the way it is played on TDK, there was a rift between her and Bruce. Perhaps Nolan realized that there wasn't much to do with her from the ending of Begins. And he played it differently, in an organic way according to the story.

Rachel gave Bruce a chance, but she believed that he was a different person. He was her friend mostly, and what she was looking in Bruce, she found it in Harvey. There is an arc there, she had to make a choice. And in hindsight it was an obvious one.

And yes, Bruce had to wait until Rises to meet Selina, who ultimately understood each other in a deeper level. (You know, besides having almost the same hobby)

I rather have Chase as a love interest than two Rachels.... :o
