The Official Batman TAS Thread - Part 3

A wonderful guy. I think he gets overwhelmed at times by the love he receives.

Plus, he'll be voicing Batman again in this summer Batman and Harley Quinn, alongside his original Robin/Nightwing, Loren Lester. :woot:

Well, I was originally gonna have him sign my BTAS dvdset instead of the photo that you get from the booth. Then I thought it'll probably last longer inside of a book so I used that instead. Also, signing a book seems more classy to me.

Another thing, aside from Billy West's booth (which I didn't get a chance to go to), Conroy's booth was probably the best bang for your buck. It was $40 for an autograph and photo, but at the last minute he threw in the photo(s) for free.

According to co-screenwriter Jim Krieg, 'Batman and Harley Quinn' takes place in a 'strange, redheaded nephew of Batman:the Animated Series', but 'don't show it to your kids, thinking it's B:TAS.'

But really, couldn't you say that about all the Batman DTVs?

I watched 'Harlequinade' the other night. My God, is Arleen Sorkin good... she just got it absolutely right. She'll always be the heart and soul of Harley Quinn.

I watched Harley's Holiday a few days ago, and Harley makes out with Batman at the end of the episode. It's played as a laugh and it's a great moment. I remember people loving it back then as well.

If they did something like that today everyone would be freaking out.

And oh yeah, I told him Mask of the Phantasm is my favorite Batman flick. He was stunned and asked me if I meant even with the live action movies and I said yes.

batman begins might be my favorite live action batman movie so far, but i think even mask of the phantasm is probably still better than it too.

of all the movies, MoTP is the one that emotionally connected with me the most. it's better than many other live action superhero movies because of that, imo.

BTAS Opinionated Reviews - "Fear of Victory"

I love reviewing bad episodes, I love reviewing great ones. Reviewing inoffensive, perfectly adequate stories? That can be interminable. :hmr:

Hey- I really enjoyed that.
I would have given a little higher score based solely on the great TMS animation, but otherwise, smart and insightful and funny.
First time I've watched one of your reviews.
I'll certainly check out more

Five months away from the 25th anniversary of this awesomeness.

does anyone else really like the episode "Lock up" ?
was watching it the other night and forgot how good it is

Yeah, haven't seen that in a while. It's not a Top 20 episode, but it gets the job done. Bolton was a fascinating villain. I like the idea that bringing a guy like that in to Arkham was in response to the events of 'Trial' where the lunatics took over. I don't know if it was intentional, but I suspect that Bolton was abused growing up. His hard-ass dad probably locked him in the basement routinely for every little infraction, and that's how he developed his sense of justice and his "locking people up solves everything!!!" mentality. I also like that while he's turning his sights on people like Gordon and Summer, he sees Batman and himself as cohorts, while Batman recognizes that this guy's just as crazy as all the other criminals.

New review is up!

BTAS Opinionated Reviews - "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?"

On thing I didn't mention in the video is that this episode has the longest title in the whole series. Appropriate for someone like Riddler.
'VOLDERMOT' :hehe:

Had to listen to reviews from you guys back to back to notice the difference in your voices.

I was wondering when somebody would bring it up. It's gonna be interesting when we cover Phantasm together. :woot:

After much thought and deliberation, I have compiled my personal favorite episodes of the series. My top 20 if you will

1. Heart of Ice
2. Almost Got Em
3. Dreams in Darkness
4. Perchance to Dream
5. Robins Reckoning 1&2
6. I Am the Night
7. If You're So Smart, Why Aren't you Rich?
8. The Laughing Fish
9. Beware the Grey Ghost
10. Trial
11. Two-Face 1&2
12. The Man who Killed Batman
13. Deep Freeze
14. Mad as a Hatter
15. Catwalk
16. The Clock King
17. Birds of a Feather
18. Riddler's Reform
19. Shadow of the Bat 1&2
20. Christmas with the Joker.

I'm a huge fan of B:TAS, but I've never been in love with Heart of Ice like most people are. Probably wouldn't even make my top 20 list.
