I wonder what made Mayweather change his mind after all this time.
Canelo taking his dates.

I wonder what made Mayweather change his mind after all this time.
They waited too long. It's still easily the biggest superfight possible in the world at this moment but not an event for the ages like it would have been 5 years ago. I'm nowhere near as excited as I should be. Pacquiao's not the boxer he was.

It's official! Where's Iron Stark at?

Oh I'll still be very excited about it when it comes to it, but the announcement itself would have sent me crazy back then.Yeah theyre both past their prime, especially Pac. But Im still excited![]()
I'm gonna just say this right now and leave it alone. Once this is over, and if Floyd beats him as easily as I thought he would (for years), I don't want any excuses. It doesn't matter when they fought, Floyd's older than him anyway, it's not his fault Manny's style opens him up for punishment. I actually give Manny a slightly better shot now because he's a bit more cautious, if they fought 4-5 years ago, it would've been uglier. So just give Floyd his respect and leave it at that. This is the boogeyman everyone wanted to see him fight, so it's on now. Enjoy it for what it is...
They were set to fight before, and Manny backed out because of the drug testing. I think a more appropriate question would be why he changed his mind about that after all this time...
That is actually rather interesting. Is there any person mildly interested in boxing that will miss watching this?I wonder how much this will impact the opening weekend of Age of Ultron.
It was Floyd/Oscar. I think it might be the highest grossing and it was actually a very good fight. No boxing fan should miss this super fight. I think the last one was Lewis V Tyson.

What qualifies as a superfight for you? Lewis and Tyson was a horrible fight. Anyone with sense should have known what was going to happen. But people watched it. Floyd and Oscar was actually a competitive fight between the two biggest draws of their generations.Nah dude it was the highest grossing but I wouldn't call that a super fight at the time.
Agree 100%. Manny is really a glorified brawler, all offense. He is open to counters all night. He is taylor made for Floyd! But I think Manny will give him problems the first 4-5 rounds before Floyd starts to counter him all night. I was watching the JMM fight last night and man did Floyd toy with Juan all night. I actually expect this fight to be close due to Manny's style which will give him some points with the judges but wouldn't be surprised if Floyd KO'd him. You don't get up from being BRUTALLY knocked out and come back the same. He really hasn't fought anyone but now he's going up against the best counter puncher in the game and a well placed punch is all it takes.

You mean win every fight?GTFO with that 'glorified brawler' nonsense. He didn't get to where he is by being a glorified brawler.
So just because JMM ko'd Pac and Mayweather easily beat JMM, that means Mayweather should easily win?
Triangle theories never win.
What you should be looking at is how terrible Mayweather has done with left handed fighters.
Are you joking? Tyson wasn't worth any after the two Holyfield fights, and fought a guy who was much bigger then him. Oscar was far closer to his best, and actually had the size advantage. What people seem to always forget is that Floyd moved up to 154 to fight Oscar, and that evened things out quite a bit.A super fight for me is two fighters who are legit best of their division and of their era in a division. While Tyson/Lewis was huge it could've been even bigger if it happen a few years before it actually did. But Lewis was busy with Holyfield another great of that era trying to unify the heavyweight divsion.
yes i know i've contradicted myself a bit as Tyson wasn't at his best in the 00's but that was a super fight for the 90's.
Was Oscar near his peak in 07? I don't think he was.

Using your own criteria, Floyd/Oscar was much more of a super fight then Lewis/Tyson ever was.
Tyson was a 80s fighter. That was when he was at his best. You aren't even making sense. That's what I said Tyson wasn't near his best when he and Lewis fought but that was a super fight for the 90's and it was a heavyweight fight. The blue ribbon division of the sport.
Oscar was a 90's era fighter as well.
