"Q: We know the budget is not over 180 million per the terms of the merril deal but do you have an estimate yet? Zak said it was quite a bit.

It's enough. Listen, I made Transporter 1 for 17M$, Unleashed for 20M$ and Transporter 2 for 22M$ (this one could have used a couple of extra bucks, sorry about some of the vfx's). I'm used to small budgets. This one's very big in Hollywood standards and huge compared to my first films. I'm going to put every penny on screen."

I don't see where anyone said it would only be around $1,000,000, just read the quote above and relax. What type of movie could be made with only 1 million?

BRING BANA back or I will boycott the movie.

I LOVED the first film.

Without Bana.. I'm not even going to bother.

I really wish Eric Bana would come back for The Incredible Hulk.

BOO WHOOOOOO :oldrazz:

Eric Bana did ask to have his role as Bruce Banner back. We all want him to have his role back so why not? GIVE THE MAN HIS ROLE BEFORE HE GETS ANGRY!!!!

I really wish LL had not voted the way he did on this thread because it is disheartening for those that want him back like me.

The movie doesn't seem like it's going to be any good, so better for Bana to stay away.

yeah, it's a different feel to ang lee's hulk, any thing that attach the two pieces of work together should really be kept separate.

new vision, new directions, new director, new actors...

that's how i see it.

Not nescessarilly, it may have a different feel to ang's Hulk, but it's still a Hulk movie if you say that it's just like you'd make a new Hulk movie w/a different theme and since it's a different tone this time you decided to change Hulk's color and made his skin purple and his pants green.
People are going to notice the Hulk and most of them would think this is a sequel even if we're not certain about that and they would certainly wonder what happened to Eric Bana and then they'll ask "why does the Hulk look like Owen Wilson, or Edward Norton? only he got stouter".

Casting Bana shows how spot on Ang Lee was - he's an amazing actor and should be brought back...

people's intepretation of this film will entirely be up to the marketing peeps and the director.

truth be told, it's their film, they can do what they want with it. They could technically have it in continuity but i don't see the harm in remarketing it with a completely new cast

look at batman, it has been marketed in continuity with different actors (although alfred remained consistent( and also as a new start with a completely new cast. Everyone is able to differentiate nolan's, burton's and schumacher's visions of bats each time.

neither way is bad, i'm just stating which one i personally prefer, if it's a clean start, then i don't want any ties into the first one.

Exactly, not bringing him back will also turn off a lot of potential customers, myself included, from seeing this.

I hated all those other batman movies except for nolan's bats, it messed w/my mind and that wasn't the batman i knew from the comics. Plus they had to put so many neon lights/glow in the dark accessories there that made the films so crapy!
I wouldn't even begin to call those films continuity, it only made to the box office coz like 2/3 of America are batman fans and not coz those films were great. I consider nolan's bats as the only one in continuity the rest are f**ked up.:csad:

^yeah and if they do a Hulk ala batman style this film will suck big time!

No Bana please.
I want a totally new take on HULK, and if the studio has any sense they will to.

Bana or no Bana doens't matter to me as long as it's a great film. Sure it'd be nice to see Bana again, but I'm sure they could also find someone else better.

^^Not me, right actor with right character don't meet that often, I trust in Bana ability. Directing the proper acting, is harder to trust.

Despite what many think Hulk didn't do that bad in the BO, the people that did see it didn't think it was that bad just not to there taste or a unexpected movie. they were likely hoping for something more along the lines of the hulk formula. If LL can offer some valued action and a good amount of how important Bruce and Hulk are but they'll never be excepted. That's an old Hulk story.

Hulk 1 just didn't have that in there enough and that's what people wanted, just to the Hollywood extreme.

To me ideas are great and will definitely make me(a person who wants this to work so bad) hopeful, but execution can be a heart wrenching process especially in Hollywood. I hope LL is ready.

BTW, I just saw that Phillips Hulk commercial. What's that about?

Nothin against Bana, but new direction

nothing resembling old hulk should stay

I think "nothing" is a bit strong.

I asked clint@moviehole and he told me now that he's pretty sure Bana is booked for 2007.

So let's move on.

You are right.
Not many here are, but you are.

I agree the character needed a new direction, new actors, and a totally new style and tone to the film...but I think the Hulk should look similar to the first film...maybe a bit more monsterous looking...and please use animatronix during the transformation scenes.

Bana is one of the most busiest actors right now. After MUNICH, Bana has become Hollywood's newest leading actor (ie. Vanity Fair Article).

This film will suffer without Bana's participation. We all know he's an amazing actor that can really turn things around. I think for the most part Ang Lee's vision was tainted with the studios wanting more campy action that made the first film look rather unbalanced.

Bana's performance in the film was brilliant. It will be so sad not to see him return for this movie but he's a very busy man that can't commit to everything.

When looking at the talent working on this film it's best that he does avoid this trainwreck. No good can come from a novice director and a hack writer. Look at the atrocity Penn inflicted on X3 can you imagine the colossal damage he'll commit on Hulk

You know, I said nothing against Bana, and I do mean that, I by no means think he is Hollywoods newest leading man, but he is very good

just this movie is going to be a remake/reimaging, and I think that includes the lead.

I like Bana, but ya know I would rather see them go somewhere else with the role
