I still like kurt russell as jonathan and maybe crowe or caviezel as Jor-el.
alec baldwin or john goodman as perry.

I don't see Snake Pliskin as Jonathan Kent. I always see Kurt as a hard ass action star, I can't picture him being this salt of the earth farmer. One thing I like about Smallville's portrayal was John Schnieder as Jonathan Kent. There was just something about his look & his portrayal that finally made me want a father like Jonathan Kent. I've never felt that way about past incarnations of JK. Even when being hard on Clark I could sit back & see that it was only ever done out of love, never to condescend or be nasty. Smallville lost alot when they killed him off & it really shows when Smallville fans see John at any convention. If the new guys at WB can find someone like that to play JK in the reboot I'd be happy. I know I'm probably in a minority BTW, in regards to John Schnieder's interpritation of JK, given Smallville isn't well liked for some reason.

I feel exactly the same way and posted to that effect a while back in here. In my mind - whether you love or hate Smallville - there is no denying that John Schneider's take on Jonathan Kent is a very modern and believable version. As an actor he has a certain likeable quality and quiet dignity about him, and physically (6"3 and fairly broad) I much preferred his younger version of the farmer Jonathan Kent to the Donner version where he is an older, smaller, more tired man.

Clark Kent/Superman: Brandon Routh/the perfect unknown(who no one suggested until now)/Daniel Cudmore
Lois Lane: Zooey Deschanel is my top choice,if not her,Anne Hathaway or Rachel McAdams
Lex Luthor: Josh Brolin
Jor-El:Jim Caviezel
Lara:Cate Blanchett or Lena Headey
Perry White: R.Lee Ermey
Jimmy Olsen: Anton Yelchin
Jonathan Kent:Kurt Russell
Martha Kent:Meryl Streep
General Zod: Gerard Butler
Brainiac: Jason Isaacs or Ralph Fiennes
Metallo:Paul Bettany

Jor-El:Jim Caviezel

Nice.

I could see him as Superman too, actually. But if he's Jor-El, I'll still be very thrilled. He's incredibly appropriate as either.

Glad to see we have something to agree on for a change. :funny:

Here goes:

SUPERMAN: Unknown or Henry Cavill

LOIS LANE: Emily Deschanel (Zooey's sister - maybe a bit too old, but who says she has to be younger than Superman anyways?)

LEX LUTHOR: Joaquin Phoenix

JOR-EL: James Caviezel

LARA: Lena Headey

PERRY WHITE: Dustin Hoffman

JONATHAN KENT: Gary Sinise

MARTHA KENT: Moira Harris (Sinise's wife and actress)

JIMMY OLSEN: Anton Yelchin

BRAINIAC: Matthew Goode (performance capture while using the slender Goode's real and pretty creepy face)

Of course, there's a certain superstar who'd be very obvious for BRAINIAC as well.

Keanu Reeves, of course. His distant and cold acting would actually benefit the character. Like an evil version of his Klaatu. I could see it working and he might be a good name for the poster.

I'll try a manip of him and Goode.

I'm betting Brainiac will be mostly CG with a few live action scenes done animatronic, and since it seems hugo weaving won't be an option, then I vote for Alan Rickman.

Rickman for the voice, you mean?

I'd go for somebody with a softer voice and possibly some vocoder effects.

Ralph Fiennes. His soft-spoken dialog for Voldemort is spot on.

yes, IF Brainiac is mostly CG, which I think he will be..

TV actor Todd Cahoon has posted his audition for Superman: Man of Steel on YouTube. It says it's for the role of "Patrick", but it might be a disguise for Superman/Clark Kent. This seems quite legitimate, plus it was posted on November 24th, which is around the timeframe that they were searching for the new Supes.

If it's really for a character named "Patrick", I wonder who that character is.

Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as Superman

Speaking of Armie Hammer, did anyone happen to save that funny Superman manip that banned poster named Eze made? It was a mashup of different Superman faces from the comics, supposed to be what Hammer would look like in the film. I tried looking for it, but it wasn't being hosted anymore.

Going strictly by the tone of the lines used for the test/audition, it could be for Superman, or perhaps Patrick is a cop/troubled soul who's story mirrors/parallels Superman's in some way. An attempt to add another "human element" to the story perhaps.

He looks too much like a mix of Clive Owen, Michael Vartan, and... Luke Perry. None of which look like Supes. So I hope he gets the role of "Patrick."

Here is my DREAM CAST..

Clark Kent/Superman= Brandon Routh
Lois Lane= Anne Hathaway
Gerard Butler= General Zod
Ursa= Mila Jovavich
Diane Lane= Martha Kent
Johnathon Kent= Dennis Quaid
Amanda Waller= Queen Latifah

I'll post this in here too, because I think he would be interesting albeit a little typical for the role maybe.

Keanu for BrainIAC:

Keanu for Brianiac actually makes perfect sense.

My choice is a little odd, only because he's played a DC villain, actually, he played a Superman villain.

Kevin Spacey for Brainiac.

Perfect voice for it. If the make-up is done right I'm sure people could forgive/forget that he was Lex.

Holy Crap!!! Long live Jim Caviezel!!!

I wanted him as Supes in the old days ;) And I'd take him still as my choice... But I would absolutely take him as Jor El...

Nothing about that is odd, as long as they could seperate him from Lex... Which is a bummer in retrospect, cause he'd be an awesome Brainiac...

f you want vovocoder effects, no one is better than the Transformers versions of Lex Luthor/Brainiac himself, Frank Welker, the original Megatron and Soundwave. I would personally prefer Peter Jessop(Soundwave in ROTF: The Video Game and Brainiac in Justice League: Heroes)
