Why does Superman need to be in his mid/late twenties? With the exception of Superman Birthright, the Superman of the comics has never struck me as a young man. He always seems like he is in his mid-thirties... which Jon Hamm can easily pull off. He may be nearly breaching 40, but he doesn't really look that old. Many, many actors play ages that are not their own and if this film isn't another origin story, I think Hamm has a serious shot at it. If they are building this thing from the ground up, than that's a different story.

People are entitled to their opinions but I don't think that Hamm is too old for a Superman movie. I think that he is the perfect choice and I would die from happiness if he got the role. Nothing will change that opinion.

Again, I respect that other's disagree but thats just my two cents. Do I think that youth obsessed WB will let it happen even if Hamm, Synder and Nolan wanted it well...I'm not sure about that. At the end of the day I just hope that a good actor gets the role.

Cavill and Hammer are good options as well, I just think that there is an opportunity here to make a film about a man and cast a man in the role. And it seems like Snyder would probably be the guy to do it.
