Well that didint ruin the whole movie for me.

I ended up ranting in another forum and most of it was about Colossus, who isn't even one of my fave x-characters...(well, wasn't..)

I expected him NOT to look like the thing out of the terminator, and have atleast SOME screentime to shine, rather than chucking Wolverine and looking crap at the same time. I thought he looked fine in the final battle (all 3 seconds of it) which is what annoys me about the Danger Room close up more than anything...what was with the silver hair? I mean REALLY? As fans were any of you happy with that?

I had the opinion before, about not needing much character development because we have the comics for that - but I realised I was wrong after seeing the movie. And it's not ONLY development that was missing. It was screentime in general and as we know, that's because of the length and stinginess.

Even if Colossus had been given just 2 minutes of fight footage! Something to show what he can do! Wolverine got plenty of solo fight footage - I wasn't asking for Colossus entire backstory, just that he looked as good as X2 and got to use his powers in a cool way. Neither happened.

Where was his invulnerabilty? His colossal strength? That's why I thought his X2 cameo was better - it captured him perfectly with the bullets bouncing off. Here, he's tossing Wolverine, hiding behind rocks in the Danger Room and running from cars. This WASN'T Colossus. This was the amazing shiny liquid metal Tin Man who does the tango with Wolverine!


In X2 Colossus rescues Siryn, throws guards through a wall, found the escape tunnel and helped the kids to saftey. He only metalled up once but it looked better than any of the times in X3 (And infact we only saw the actual transformation into Tin Man once in X3 too). He spoke more in X2. And if we wanna get picky he also drew the cartoon of Bobby and Rogue.

This time he transferred his power to Rogue for a few seconds, threw Wolverine (badly), jumped on the ground and punched a few people in the final battle, and threw Wolverine again. Oh and he carried a huge tv. In human form.

He was supposed to be an X-MAN this time! They didn't even have the decency to introduce him or explain who he was!

All along, since X2 they've said they plan to do more with Colossus' character - they gave him a profile along with the rest of the "main cast" and hyped him up alot. BLOODY HELL - The WRITERS, Penn and Kinerg when answering questions on the X-Verse Q&A thread mentioned many times that we would "see alot more of him", that we would "see him transform alot" that he was "at the centre of the biggest action scenes" and "really got to kick ass" and that he had more dialogue and even SPOKE WHILST IN METAL FORM! He only spoke ONCE in the entire movie!


In the end all anyone could do was whinge about the cost of his special effect and ultimately made him look WORSE than X2 and had him be there for no reason but to throw Wolverine. Which looked pathetic by the way. Watch the Incredibles for a proper fastball special - a javelin throw. They should have CG'd it, but no, that would have cost them money. These these things are supposedely for the fans, but when they are a shoddy insult, I'd rather they didn't bother.

I'm not saying that small amounts of Colossus make a bad X-Men movie - I'm saying, if they weren't willing to spend the money to make him look good, or even let him speak and have a few scenes then why bother "extending" his role at all?

Well I had my hopes up extremely high for more Colossus...since he is my favorite X-Man and I thought he was "going to be in the center of the action", "do more", and "talk while in metal form".

None of that really happened. He hit two guys again, just like in X2, except on screen. He had less dialogue than in X2. He did nothing really to prove he was Colossus.

Don't get me wrong...protecting Rogue was awesome, when he landed and cratered the ground was awesome, and I thought the carrying the tv scene was cool too. But that is NOT the Colossus we were told we'd see. Seriously, I didn't get the Colossus I was anticipating.

It was a big let down for me.

Did anyone see him escape or after Alkatraz? I hope he was not Demolizulizeded! Maybe he spent the last part of the battle saving Juggs!

This is pure conjecure on my part an no diss on the actor but perhaps his limited amount of dialogue was because he was not very good at delivering it? He was not a professional actor after all. Just a thought.

Hmm, maybe that could be it, but I mean he two lines in both movies weren't that bad at all.

I mean maybe if he had a full on role, they might need a new actor, but Daniel had the perfect look for Colossus and a line or two more wouldn't hurt.

A lot of the "professional" actors in this movie had trouble delivering their lines. He would have fit right in.

Honestly how bad could he have been? Paris Hilton has had line...........nuff said on that really. I think Fox cut down the run time and I understand what Miss Cross is saying as others before her as have also brought very rational claim like that, but i think its deeper than that
