Superman Returns The Official Comic-Con Thread!

^^good point...I hadn't thought of that.

He did good timing...from what little I seen. It would be nice to see him do more in the next movie. LOL...what I'd love to hear Singer say if he shows up is, the next movie is pre-crisis!

No tomatoes will be thrown if he says that...I hope :)

hey you wont hear any complaints from me if its gonna be about Pre-Crisis ;)

but to be fair to the entire fandom i'd like the next movies to use the best of both Pre and Post-Crisis material, its a win-win situation really, having such a rich source to base your scripts on.

that is if Singer and Co. would even bother to use such material :(

LOL...lol...I was joking and you got it....lol...no one ever gets my humor:up: The tomatoes would fly if Singer said that.

Anyway, it's an interesting point. I thought Singer made an attempt for a blend, but at this point I think the best agreed representation of both post and pre is STAS, and...it would be hard to bring that type of Superman to the big screen.

If the man shows, I'd love to hear him talk about what he has planned and give some hints and try to at least sway people because he's going to face skeptics. I will be one...

When he does show he's not going to be talking about Pre-Crisis or Post-Crisis and definately not STAS. He's going to be talking about Returns;the deleted scenes, the actors performances, the box office, and maybe touch on a sequel.

remember how last year's Con everyone was rooting for Singer and everyone was skeptical about Routh? one year later, how the tides have changed ;)

i'm a little curious if anyone will throw a BB2 question at Singer, or if they try to associate/ compare this franchise with the other one. another chance for Singe to show off his eloquence? ;)

^^Routh should be in the gym from here until the next sequel...if I see his skinny ass at the con...he'll get a tomato too:) even though I think he's a hottie :)
That was not Routh's fault. Blame that on the WB. They did a survey amoungst women to find out what body type was sexiest to them. Then they had the guy who made the spiderman muscle suit to make them a bunch. then they made him sign a contract that he would stat at a certain weight and body size and not bet any bigger. So he contractually had to. Hey Warner's. Next time, let him just get big.

Singer Still Planning Superman Sequel
Source: Edward Douglas July 21, 2006

At the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, director Bryan Singer said that he was in talks with Warner Bros about a sequel. He hadn't concluded a deal to do it yet, which he said is always “iffy," but he has every intention to do a sequel for 2009, and said that while Superman Returns reintroduced the character for new people, the next one will let him get all “Wrath of Khan on it."

He also joked that he has to see who's left in the cast if he ever were to return to the X-Men franchise. Ironically, right before being asked about it, he had been joined on the dias by original Superman director Richard Donner, whose wife Laura Schuler Donner produced the first two X-Men movies.
