Maybe since they got the release date pushed back, they decided to waste time and f*** with people.
Lol.....yea

Besides, I think having a darker shade of blue will draw that much more attention to the vibrant red "S" on his chest. Make it pop out more, if you will.
And as someone already mentioned, the darker blue probably helps reduce the awkwardness of the "sans trunks" look - just as a black batsuit negates the need for Batman to wear trunks in those films.
i like the thought of his emblem popping out... but visually speaking, Superman has more than his emblem.Besides, I think having a darker shade of blue will draw that much more attention to the vibrant red "S" on his chest. Make it pop out more, if you will.

You can't focus all on one color, especially on Superman... it doesn't work. Singer tried that, it didn't visually work. It will be the same problem here.
i would rather see a three-tone color scheme that works together on screen... not two extreme colors that cancel each other out, and one color left alone as if it weren't important
You're long for this place.![]()
I dont know, I think the cape is what matters. And look at Thor, vibrant cape and everything else is dark and unsaturated. I thought he looked great.

In fact, during his first flight scene, or teleporting scene... the part where they are transported to the other planet to fight. The first thing that came to my mind was, "Holy crap, its Superman!" because his red cape flapping.
Like I said, your tears are delicious.
Eh, it's just unfortunate that some fans are just downright unpleasable. Maybe the internet allowing us to meticulously pick apart and complain about every piece of minutiae is just spoiling us further.
Some people will only be pleased with an exact replica of Christopher Reeve, or a precise interpretation of the specific image they personally have in their head, and it's just beyond ridiculous to be a Superman fan and visit Superman forums and see so much of this garbage.
I'm just glad to see a Superman movie that isn't enslaved to Chris Reeve and Richard Donner. And hearing some of these complaints means Snyder's on the right track.
Like I said, your tears are delicious.

so Superman has now been reduced to nothing more than a cape?
the last time i looked at Superman, he had more than that... he had a cape, an emblem, trunks, a belt, a blue body suit, boots, even a symbol on the cape from time to time...
and when I think of Superman costume wise, that's what i see... i dont just see one thing... i see it all... and honestly, i want to see it all costume wise. I dont want to see his body as a dark silhouette shrouded in a red cape... that's not superman to me

I'm not saying he's defined by his costume... I'm simply saying there's more to his costume than his cape.Good grief, chill. Some of us don't mind the contrast. Oh woe is me. Besides, Superman isn't defined by his costume for me, this looks plenty like Superman already, now let's see if they get who he is as a character right. I don't know about you, but that matters a hell of a lot more to me than what damn shade of blue his suit is.
Nope, but if Superman actually existed and he flew overhead, I guarantee you that the red cape is what you would notice.
I'm not saying he's defined by his costume... I'm simply saying there's more to his costume than his cape.
if you actually read what I said, you would of realized that.
and personally, i cant stand the contrast. it's very distracting, and takes away from the visual aspect of the suit.
and if it continues to stay that way (because i dont know if it will or not) in the actual movie, it will diminish my movie experience, if i see it.

You should totally boycott the movie... I support you![]()

your guarantee really doesn't mean much because Superman doesn't exist.
Well, at least we now know the first picture was indeed tampered with.
The on-set pictures look far brighter. IMO the suit looks great.

sarcasm gets you nowhere with me
you just make me laugh
i wouldn't necessarily boycott the movie... but i will be honest, when i saw SR in theaters, i was very disappointed from a color perspective. action was okay, story was interesting, they got a lot of the mythos of superman right, but the suit and color scheme was greatly lacking.
since this is a suit thread, the suit is going to be my concern... it's entire design is my concern. that's what we're here to discuss
I said, "if Superman existed". Sorry for asking you to use your imagination. What are you even doing in a Superhero Forum. Maybe you should be watching jeopardy instead.
... but my concern is not if Superman is real or not. in this thread, my concern is the suit and its designi do have an imagination, and I love to use it... but my concern is not if Superman is real or not. in this thread, my concern is the suit and its design
