Loving the new pics on the suit.

And I completely agree, i'd take bright red cape and dark blue suit over dark maroony brown cape and light blue suit any day.

couldn't have said it better myself, aesthetically makes much more sense.

Ideally both the blue and red would be bright, but if only one can be brighter it should be the red.

Looking sharp

It's an odd/hard picture to try & make a judgement on the colors of the suit however from this picture I think the colors look quite similar to Dean Cain's outfit ie darker blue, richer red & this is the color scheme I personally much prefare for the outfit rather than previous suits in which the blue was verging on a sky blue shade.

Disappointed there is no \S/ on the cape, however it isn't the worst thing in the world.. just makes the back of the cape look a little plain. Aside from that the cape looks a great length, has a great neck attachment & a great rich vibrant color.

I'm quite pleased on how the suit appears to look. The one area that could kill it for me is the trunk region, it definatly looks like there are trunks.. but they're blue, however still with a belt. So it will either look really good & make the suit, or it will look **** & ruin the suit. Either way I can't wait till we get a proper more well lit promo of some sort.
kinda agree. i think when the whole suit is revealed, the trunks-less issue will take over all the other good points... and the most of the taglines will be...
we bring u superman... without his red trunks.

Looks like there's a shield on his chest here....

My god his arms are huge! It doesn't look like padding, but it has to be. Or did he really get that big?

Shoulders are definitely padded, because that just doesnt look natural. It's borderline 80s musclesuit IMO or at least in this shot.
Arms have probably gotten a padding or two as well.

Hmmm. Maybe. They most likely "invented" their own colors for the suit, I think they did that with Superman Returns as well.

That looks more in line with the SR Red to me.

your probably right but it's close at least

Damn,

The cape really IS that long. I thought the promo shot had a longer cape for drama.
Well i prefer the knee length cape from the original but I see what they are going for here. the long red cape clearly gives him height. The bigger open neckline enhances his shoulder width and the shiny texture eventuates his muscles.
The SR suit made Routh look long and lean but here they are clearly going for Power. The bigger S doesn't hurt either.

Padding or not, it looks awesome.

Action Comics #1 Variant by Jim Lee:

I'll be damned if Jim Lee didn't FINALLY draw the symbol well!

IMO, the symbol as drawn here is a hundred times better than the MOS \S/. It's modernized but still retains the classic shape and style.

The rest of the suit is, of course, still crap. I read an article somewhere online that stated that the problem with Lee's suit is that it doesn't look permanent; it lacks the classic qualities needed to be a true change.

I agree with that completely. Lee's suit looks like something out of a bad 90s Elseworlds story. Removing the armor plating, the high collar, fixing the boots, and adding a red portion where the trunks would be (IF the trunks HAVE to go to appease that HUGE majority of people who are demanding they go :whatever:) and the cape attachment would be perfect.

Oh wait...that would be the classic costume. Which didn't need to be changed.

Same with the MOS suit.

Your tears are delicious.

What I see is that a lot of these forums are filled with Chris Reeve fans. Well I'm a Superman fan, and they're making a Superman movie, so I'm loving all of this.

And it just makes me giddy to see Chris Reeve fans cry because they're not making a Chris Reeve movie.

Keep that tone up, noob, and you'll be gone before you had a chance to really be here.

Ah...further proof that fans (JPRart, our own Hank the Turtle) are far more talented than the "pros" in the comic and movie fields. Hank should have designed the suit for MOS, and this JP guy should have been the one to design the shield for the comics. His suit design would have probably been far better than Lee's as well.

Adjusted the design to look far better than it originally did (though the manip is great, no offense intended to its creator)

The design of the suit is great, the dark-blue color is the only thing that irks me. But I'm sure it won't bother me in the context of the movie, if it's good will say.

That deep royal blue goes perfectly with the rich vibrant red. Just my opinion though.

I would say his suit appears to be midnight blue or sapphire according to the chart I put in spoiler tags

the blue has a very black tone to it. It's more black than blue?

like Dark Teal
