Okay what do you guys think about Faora's suit?

Very generic and unimaginative but well done.

This thing about the red trunks missing making the suit look incomplete is reminding me of everyone that said the reboot suit for Spider-Man looks incomplete because it didn't have a red belt. :funny:

And it does. Both of them. MOS costume destroys the new Spidey costume, though-it is at least good for what it is and it is a slight improvement on the Superman Returns costume. But the new Spider-Man costume is horrid and a massive downgrade.

Would love to have seen what the discussions would have been like if they had just completely gotten rid of the suit :)

They would defend it.

I'd like to think most people have their limits, but I'm sure a few wouldn't mind if they threw out every detail of the classic suit in favor or something totally different.

It looks good, but I agree. I hope it's better in the film.

Agreed. No offense to Spidey fans.

It's only distracting if you're looking directly at it. If you look at the suit as a whole (like you're supposed to do with any finished product) the shield is still very much the center piece of the suit and the red piping hardly distracts as much as you're implying.
A little red wouldn't hurt, but some of the manips I've seen go overboard. I think something subtle will do, but I like the suit as is.

If that's so, then why are they constantly being discussed in this thread?
I've honestly only seen 3 or 4 people bring it up after the reveal. For some reason even though people claim they're tired of the debate they can't help but be part of the discussion.

There is no defending the redesign of the Spider-Man suit, as far as I'm concerned. When it comes to superhero costumes, Spider-Man's is probably one of THE best. It's borderline perfect, and no redesign ever attempted has come even close to matching it.

It frustrates me to no end, because had they stuck with the classic design, that would have been my favorite superhero movie costume ever made. The materials are perfect, the colors are perfect, the shape of the eyes is perfect, and the imprinted webbing look great. They are 20% away from a perfect costume. It's just a shame that that 20% is pure ugliness (gold eyes, silver shoes, red stripes on the legs, and that red "thing" on his chest that bears a striking resemblance to a certain male body part).

Between this and the new Spider-Man costume, there isn't a contest.

Has anyone here asked NORMAL every day people what they think of the suit? I haven't found a single person that likes it other than fan boys.
That Batgril wannabe is annoying as ****
And for someone who is complaining about Cavill not having real muscle, it's kind of hypocritical of her to be praising her corset for giving her an hourglass figure.

Regarding your question, yes I've asked a few. Most didn't care much, the rest felt it looke decent-good. Only a minor few friends who are comic/anime geeks weren't fans.

My girlfriend doesn't like it.

Every picture I see of Cavill in that "suit" it makes me despressed. I have a feeling this movie is going to bomb and not even make what SR made world wide. The only reason it will make over 200 million is because of the cast. Lane, Cosner, Crowe, Adams and Fishburne.

This suit is all wrong and like the guy said, where is the split curl? Has Synder done away with that to? I haven't seen one photo of Cavill with it.

Cheer up. Could be worse...

I wouldn't categorize cosplayers and comic convention attendees as "normal everyday people", but those last few women before the devil/angel girls (who were insanely hot, btw) seemed pretty normal. Regardless, the bulge does look absurd and disgusting. But I doubt anyone will notice in the movie. If it is noticeable, then that is sick.

The movie is gonna bomb because of a missing panty and a patch of hair. Yea.

It's gonna bomb if fanboys don't get over their silly little hangups.

C. Lee is so not going to be happy.

Issues what we have, we're still going to see it. So grit your teeth and cringe at MOS|:hehe:

no opinions on my color filter idea? I mean you guys agree there's a good chance he will use one

There's no way the film will look much like the spy photos.

Snyder is definitely going to use a color filter as well as many others. Despite how awesome the suit looks in the set photos, it will look much better in the movie.

I came up with 4 ideas 25+ saturation. yellow filter. red filter. 25+ saturation with gold filter.

of all the filters I used those were the best

and yes I agree majik all the complaints about te blue are fixed with the increased saturation

Of course, but the same color filters aren't going to be used for every scene I'm sure.

Not really...
Yes, really.

You may like the suit as is, but it doesn't make piping of any color any less forced. The red piping doesn't look anymore forced than blue piping. If anything, I'd say red piping makes the suit more warm and Supermanly than the dark blue piping which ends up making the suit feel more cold and bleak.
You're merely confused about the term "forced."

No, it's distracting because it forces you to look at it. Look up the word.

I am an artist who is constantly changing his style and methods to adapt to whatever the job or trends require of me. I actually LIKE change, as long as it is warranted and is done tastefully. Regardless of if you like the changes or not, it doesn't mean that the suit isn't subject to criticism. I criticize MANY things that I actually love. I love The Dark Knight but it has inconsistencies. I love System of the Down but there are things that they sing about that I don't agree with. I LIKE this suit, but there are certain things they could've done to make it better (not even talking about trunks).
I'm sure there are changes that would make it better. Red piping isn't one of them.

You're free to try again and see if changing something else works, though.

If that's so, then why are they constantly being discussed in this thread?
There's not much discussion of it anymore, really. There's actually more discussion about it being discussed than actual discussion about the merits.

I'd say they did a great job with most of it. There isn't anything that I HATE they way I disliked the collar and boots on Singerman, but there are things that they could have done to really make it awesome.
Great. I'm glad you have your opinion.

To be honest, most people who aren't into comics think the Superman costume is silly/ridiculous in general. I've asked a couple of people who aren't fans of the genre what they think of the suit though, and the response has been positive so far, except for one of my friends who didn't get back to me yet.

I also briefly read a UK article pertaining to the new MOS suit that received a lot of positive feedback from female readers.
