Is all this stuff about the trunks and the lawsuit pure speculation, or is there stuff backing this up?

Just pure speculation by people that can't accept that they changed it because it looks better.

I dont know. I think it works with the dark on abdomen and the yellow in the middle. Its also a bit of a homage to the missing trunks

It looks forced and cluttered. The suit, as designed, flows naturally.

I know this isn't comedic, but I wouldn't mind Clark wearing red boxer briefs around his apartment.

Okay maybe that's my Cavill crush talking.

How about Zod throwing Clark into the Sears clothing department and a pair of red trunks lands on his lap.

Not upset at all, man. Just stating an opinion.

A tiny article in the biggest Swedish daily newspaper commented on this new Superman losing the trunks. But at the same time saying there was pictures of him with the trunks (probably just some manip they have seen). And the picture going with the article was a manip of the suit from this place, where the silver piping and the gauntlets had red colors. Such a fail!

Gotta say, that's some grade A padding in that costume. Best padding I've ever seen really. That's not a knock on Cavill, he obviously got in great shape, but wearing a suit like that makes you lose a lot of definition.

This is the costume thread, which means anything dealing with the costume is allowed.

It compensates for the lack of color in that area. As it currently is, it's just a bunch of blue with a touch of dull yellow here and there. The red piping makes the mid section pop more. If anything it makes the design more interesting and bearable for those who miss the trunks.
