I think some artists may use them again for one-shots but I don't think they will filter back into the main comics timeline again.
Well, there's always this one:

The Classic Suit and bright colors look good, its a pity Snyder cannot see why Superman needs bright primary colors, the classic suit is still the best suit.
I feel even if the suit was like that....then another group of people will complain.
I like Snyder's suit for te most part. Or rather... I can live with it because it could have been way worse.
You are an angry, angry man.Way to insult Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. How does he look ******ed in that drawing? Because he isn't sneering? Because he's smiling? Disgusting.
That's worse than the adapt or die insult, although it is an insult too.
The lack of respect and in fact, outright hatred some have of classic Superman is completely sickening.
The fact that the sneering, red eyes style of drawing Superman is worshiped and a drawing of him actually smiling-which is was Superman is SUPPOSED to do is ridiculed just shows how little modern fans understand Superman.
Really, they just need a different character, because what they want is not Superman. Period.

And I love and respect the Superman I grew up with, but I have no problem accepting a new interpretation in movie form. In fact, it's a very exciting prospect.
I'm glad you agree... but why has the quote been edited so that it makes no sense?![]()
I'm sorry, but it's not about "getting" Superman. The reality is, he is putting forth a product that he feels will appeal to the masses and not the fanboys, thank goodness! This is Hollywood, and it's not about respecting/using the source material as a whole, because that's just NOT going to cut with today's society. However, I am sure that he is using the source material to a point, but then his creative team takes over from there. The product that we wind up seeing on the big screen is going to be kickass and will put butts in the seats. Whether you like it or not, it's about the bottom line and I know that just KILLS you inside. I have been a fan of the character for as long as I can remember (almost 40 years), and I haven't felt this excited for a Superman film in a LONG time. Oh and just because the suit doesn't have the bright colors that Reeve wore or the suit directly from the comics, doesn't make him any less Superman. It's not about the suit....it's about WHO Superman is that defines who/what he is. That tends to get lost in the shuffle. I'm sure you are going to come back with "I'm not a true Superman fan", blah blah blah, but I really don't care because I know who/what Superman is TO ME and you can't convince me otherwise. He doesn't see it that way because he doesn't get Superman. His worship and wish to film the Superman-hating Dark Knight Returns by the ever disgusting Frank Miller is proof of that.
If the rights revert to the Siegels, and Marvel or some other company buys them, would the costume change more drastically than it already has?

I was thinkning the same thing... The jaw, the wavy hair, and the eyebrows. I found a head study by JLGL and compared it to a shot of Cavill's head
I can't remember is cavill's hair dark enough I know it's not black but is it a really dark brown
They would buy him in a heartbeat. With the force of a thousand red suns.Marvel would never buy Superman because they have their own characters to worry about
They've tried for 25 years to modernize Superman, to go away from what made him popular in the first place because they decided it wasn't hip or cool enough...and it failed. The immediate reaction to the DCnU costume and the MOS costumes without the trunks from the MSM and it's readers has been crotch jokes and ridicule...Superman and superheroes are always going to be seen as silly childish things to a degree. Watch MSM coverage of SDCC-it's basically, "hey let's laugh at the nerds." Running from their roots as bright fantasies for children is a mistake, especially in the case of Superman. Superman should be a film made for children first.
People....there is no call for repeatedly using the word ******ED to describe something that you don't like. It is rude and offensive and insensitive towards the mentally challenged. Do not continue to do this.
And so is "mentally challenged." It's now known as "intellectually disabled."
Though that does not change your point - just an FYI.
