its not the idea they're reacting to. it's reacting to your incessant narrow minded point of view that you annoyingly spew ad nauseum relentlessly on these boards whenever anything deviates in the slightest manner from what was depicted in action comics #1.

Oh come on. That dude champions a great, rich, imaginative and detailed universe for Superman that was developed over a period from the 1930's to the 1970's. You can't try to portray him as this limited vision stick-in-the-mud who won't let anyone have any fun with the character. And he's no more harsh towards his detractors than they are to him.

Yes, Kurosawa doesn't stand out because he's any more dedicated or hostile than any of the other fanboys here; he only stands out because his opinion is unpopular.

I Love MoS Suit.. i love Jor-El Armour.. and I will watch this movie on the 1st day release in my country.....

That's bullsh**

Kurosawa stands out because he is dedicated to his Superman. Sure, he may go overboard with his opinions of what Superman should be, but nobody can say that his Superman is all that should be...

I give Kurosawa a decent amount of sh**, but there's a lot of love and understanding tied into there...

Did you miss the part where he accused those that like the suit of being people who lie to themselves?

Good argument. Classic Jor-El's clothe are "dated". Russell Crowe's Jor-El on the other hand is the pinnacle of modern fashion and good taste.

Give me a break, that outfit wouldn't look out of place in a Flash Gordon serial. It's the very definition of an old fashion sci-fi design. If you like it, good for you. But I think it looks dated. Sorry my opinion doesn't fall in line exactly with yours.

is every kryptonian having a same superman suit???

doesn't like the idea jor-el having a same superman suit too. it isn't unique anymore.

mmm... will u wear your father cloth???

If my dad died so I could survive Armageddon, yeah I'd probably at least wear his baseball cap in tribute.

Isn't Superman wearing a suit that his father sent him? It isn't like Jor-El stripped naked and put his suit in the ship. It would be more like a son wearing the clothes that his father bought for him as a gift before he died. It isn't a used costume, apparently, it is a new one. A suit from his planet that seems to be the traditional Kryptonian garb.

so it is a jor-el suit. it isn't a superman suit after all?

so will they gonna explain how he can fly, shot lazer beams from his eyes, x-ray vision, cold breeze, superhearing???

Are you blind?

Some of the suits bear similarities... But Jor-el, Zod, Faora and Superman all have DIFFERENT suits.

What one thing have to do with another? The suit never give Superman his powers, the high gravity enviroment with the yellow sun radiation did. I like how they connected the suit with the kryptonian heritage, also giving the suit the look of "almos indestructible". But I will like to see his cape rip apart though :P

wow. we r so pathetic now.
Speak for yourself please.

Similar is different from exactly the same.

It's a similar suit. That is not the same as same.

mmm... will u wear your father cloth???
Hmmm....I find out I am the last (or one of the last) survivors of my entire planet's population and that my father went to extraordinary measures to keep me alive......wearing similar clothes as him is a very small way to say "thanks dad".

If my dad died so I could survive Armageddon, yeah I'd probably at least wear his baseball cap in tribute.
Exactly.

we still look at the 70s pics to feel good. we have nothing after about 40 years.
Who is we? Do you think you are speaking for every single member on this board? Are you ignoring all the people that have fought with people on here because they liked Welling, Cain, or Routh? Just because YOU don't think anything worthwhile has been done with a live action Superman since Reeve...that doesn't mean that everyone thinks that way.

To be a Jor-El suit....it would have to look just like the one that Russel Crowe is wearing in the pictures. But it doesn't look just like it. It looks similar. That makes it a Superman suit.

so will they gonna explain how he can fly, shot lazer beams from his eyes, x-ray vision, cold breeze, superhearing???
We don't know if they will or not...we haven't seen the finished movie. But the thing is....I don't remember the Reeve Superman movies explaining those either (other than saying the lesser gravity of earth will make him faster and stronger. Jor-El didn't go into laser eyes or the other stuff)...nor do I remember the Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Dean Cain, Gerard Christopher, John Newton, or Brandon Routh movies and TV shows explaining it either.

It's a pic of a cool moment. Regardless of the actor, I'd still find it to be cool.

doesn't like the idea jor-el having a same superman suit too. it isn't unique anymore.

In the grand scheme of the DC universe, Supes’ outfit is individualized in the details. But it hardly represents a distinctively unique motif. Batman, other heroes, super villains and Golden Age Kryptonians all sported some variation of the trunks-over-tights, boots and cape theme. For example...

So the fact that MOS/Jor-El has a costume that’s roughly similar to Supes’ is not a particularly modern or revisionist invention.
