There's a picture of the DCnU Jor-El design in the back of Action Comics #2.

Thanks, Kuro. :) The new outfit seems to be a synthesis of TAS, Birthright, and the DCnU. Really not a bad selection of modern source material.

I don't really like Crowe's costume but it stomps mudholes in Brando's. It does remind me of Superman: Earth One. Wish it was green, at least.

I don't mind the costume. At the very least, it's original and not cringe-inducing. And I definitely wouldn't want to see Russell Crowe dressed in anything tighter *shudders*.

So Kuro, out of all the different designs they've made for Jor-El and Lara over the years, which one is your favorite?

tried a fix.

What do you think the female outfits will be like.

Maybe like Faora's. Seems like there's only one tailor on Krypton, and three colors.

I hope not!

Love to see the bronze age outfits but not holding breath

I don't like the All Star, Birthright and DCnU ones at all. They're quite ugly. The classic, the TSA and Byrne's (minus the off-putting head covering and the fungi looking stuff down the arms), are the only ones that really give J&L some air of dignity.

I like the DCnU because it reminds me of the classic. Green color, headband, etc. Drawing is a little on the ugly side, IMO.

It's colors are good, and there seems to be a nice, respectable suit somewhere in there underneath all that unsightly clutter.

Something else I just realized I don't care for is J&L in matching outfits.

Maybe they got up, realized it was the end of the world, and decided to coordinate their colors just for the occasion.

Speak for yourself please.
Similar is different from exactly the same.

It's a similar suit. That is not the same as same.
sorry for the wrong word. similar is what i meant.

Hmmm....I find out I am the last (or one of the last) survivors of my entire planet's population and that my father went to extraordinary measures to keep me alive......wearing similar clothes as him is a very small way to say "thanks dad".
it's ok. but the suit isn't as unique for superman anymore.

Who is we? Do you think you are speaking for every single member on this board? Are you ignoring all the people that have fought with people on here because they liked Welling, Cain, or Routh? Just because YOU don't think anything worthwhile has been done with a live action Superman since Reeve...that doesn't mean that everyone thinks that way.
they were entertaining. but they didn't make any statement/impact.

To be a Jor-El suit....it would have to look just like the one that Russel Crowe is wearing in the pictures. But it doesn't look just like it. It looks similar. That makes it a Superman suit.
like i said, the superman suit isn't uniquely for superman anymore. everybody is having a similiar one. just not special anymore.

We don't know if they will or not...we haven't seen the finished movie. But the thing is....I don't remember the Reeve Superman movies explaining those either (other than saying the lesser gravity of earth will make him faster and stronger. Jor-El didn't go into laser eyes or the other stuff)...nor do I remember the Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Dean Cain, Gerard Christopher, John Newton, or Brandon Routh movies and TV shows explaining it either.
exactly.
sometimes, something goes better with unexplained; what more, people has acccepted him and his powers. the more you explain, the more shiiit and mistakes you will got, most of the time. worse, you are wasting the time. and the story doesn't get developed.

I'm reserving judgment on the Jor-El suit until I see it in context. It's quite ornate, so it may be some kind of special occasion suit. Since Zod et all are in this movie, it could be formal wear for the trial where they are imprisoned.

I have a feeling that the Jor-El suit will get a little bit of added lighting effect similar to the Green Lantern suit just not nearly as much.

Silver/Bronze Age all the way.

krypton_large.jpg

That is a very nice piece!

Gotta say that big piece of glass is interestingly odd and somewhat disturbing to me. I realize it's there for the drama of the farewell scene, but the panoramic view afforded Kal-el, seems like it would be terrorizing to a young child.

An open hatch might have been a better choice.

Even worse, that manip. Donnerverse Jor-El outfit ftfw over Synderverse.

sorry?

just though i would make it green like kurosawa wanted, its the same colors as the silver age jor-el
