That's a little better.

it wasnt bright enough and i wanted to used all 3 of the original colors

i just forgot to do the cuffs

i said that earlier ( the thor thing ) but someone pointed out that a better comparison would be elven armor so i guess lord of the rings style

it also reminds me of a more fantastical lannister armor from game of thrones (big pic so i put it in spoiler tags)

I don't like it but I like it waaayyy better than the Donnerverse costume.

You know agreeing or disagreeing with someones art is ok but try and be respectful.

Jor'el's armour reminds me of the Necromonger's armour from The Chronicles of Riddick.

Changing the color makes it worse. It's suppose be a precursor to Superman's suit. Might as well change the whole design if you're going to change the color.

I just wish we could see it without the shoulder pads. I think it'd make him look a bit more like a scientist if they weren't right in your face like that.

But it defo looks better green, and TBH even before seeing old pics of Jor-el from the comics, I thought I had it in my head it was going to be green (have no idea why). I definitely didn't think it'd be both the same symbol as Supes AND the same colour scheme.

I think the shoulder guards make it look like a ceremonial garment.

I find it odd.... I mean Odin wore cerimonial guards but he was a king. Asguard is not a democracy but a monarchy...

Krypton, not so much...... so why the armor based cerimonial gear................

Maybe Krypton has a deeply rich ancient history. Though one not as spread out as ours but more cohesive. Thus, due to being simpler yet grander than our ancient customs, they honor it. Maybe it is reactionary display from those who feel they've long lost their culture amidst such scientific leaps. Perhaps because everything has become too cold and rational thus a movement to restore culture and sentimentality.

maybe jor-el isn't a scientist in this movie. a minister / general too?

i think its ceremonial and he wll be receiving the kryptonian equivalent of the nobel prize

Well, a human being's perception of what a scientist looks like could (and likely would) be quite different to a Kryptonian's view I think.

He could be other things along with being Krypton's greatest scientist, but he has to be a scientist first.

REMEMBER... Jor-El is A Kryptonian... He is An Alien... Alien's Scientist Has not to be looked like Earth's Scientist.... They're Aliens...!!!!!

I have to admit, I agree with Kurosawa - the whole use of the S shield on Krypton is overdone - it's too Donnerverse. Also, a headband would improve that costume a lot. Something needs to balance out those shoulder pads. My problem with the shoulder pads is they contrast too strongly with Crowe's fatness. It just makes him look odd.

I still don't understand what is wrong with Jor-El colours from the classic comics. The use of green actually subconsciously identifies him as a scientist, given its affiliation with nature (think of how much green is associated with environmentalism). Also, there is a reason why the science/medical branches in Star Trek have consistently had a blue/green uniforms.

its not even necessarily making him look more like a scientist....rather, make him look more sci-fi.
