Haven't found the Daredevil manip yet, but I did look at Mike22's manips again. I really like his take on the suit...

Can't go wrong with the classic. Just get some Hollywood quality material and I think it'd look great on Cavill.

I would not be at all surprised to see Snyder's take on the costume be very close to these Welling manips. Once again, these pictures show that Classic is best. I especially like the last one.

The character should be more fantastique-- Superman is white bread next to modern heroes with diamond skin and steel skeletons.

Are we still seeing that tracing of a teenager with an s on him as an actual suit that is worth pointing out it is not good? His head is the same color as his body..

It's amazing how people can be giant *****es when you actually do concept work with paper and ink rather than pasting an actor's head on a manipulation involving a second photo that doesn't belong to you.

Get rid Of the returns \S/ and I'm cool

Like I said they can use red silicone for the S so you can make it bigger and still retain flexibility and at 1/8th thick it won't restrict movement at all

Why would someone like Clark wear somthing as off putting as what you're purposing? Wouldn't he want to look as approachable as possible?

Do you have anything against the SUPERMAN RETURNS \S/?

I do ink and paper concepts all the time I never render in photoshop though do use it to color my pictures

Yet I have never done anything that radical the most radical thing I've ever don't to superman was transplant him into medieval dark ages

His costume was nothing like what he wears now save for blue pants and a flowing red scarf not a cape I even changed the S and yet he was instantly recgognizable because he was human looking

Godzilla I don't like how it's plastic looking and all 3D with the ridge on the s plus it was small and it didn't look right to me, like it didn't even belong on the suit like it was just glued on I like a larger shield that has some depth but not that ridge look

That looks pretty good!

Put a really buff Cavill in that costume with visible musculature and I could certainly live with it. It has pretty much everything that most require for it to be considered classic, and is different enough from the STM and SR costumes to be unique. I'd like to see an \S/ that's not so obviously the SR \S/, but beyond that it's very good. However, I believe Snyder is going to give us something just as classic, but even better. Just a hunch.

I remember seeing this a couple of years ago and I saved it because I always liked it the simplicity of it. I don't know why, but I thought I'd share it. You probably won't like it though.

How can everyone hate the SR costume and yet use it back as a template for the new costume?

by the way, the SR \S/ is the best looking S for the entire superman franchise. sleek, modern, and yet stays classic... it is similar to smallville \S/ ryt?

That makes sense.

I think its used as the base for manips and such because it was the most recent update of the Superman costume on film for contemporary audiences.

i disagree with the SUPERMAN RETURNS \S/ being the best looking of the franchise. It IS the Smallville \S/ symbol.

I don't really get the put down of different mediums but fair enough if that is your opinion on that.

I was not intentionally having a dig at your work, I honestly thought it was a joke that people were over reacting too, I am sorry I didn't take your superman costume concept seriously.

Maybe if you went into detail of what is going on within this concept I might be able to understand it better.

I'd disagree there. The only thing I thought when I saw it was STM + SR, which to me makes it very "un-unique." The only thing that is different is a more metallic look, which I do like. But overall, it's STM with SR tweak.

Personally, I'd like something classic but different from what we've seen in the past. I liked certain aspects of the Fantastic Four Superman manip that was floating around he a few weeks ago. It was classic while being updated.

The one I did? sorry for the bizzaro \S/ it was a quick manip

Not exactly. These are from Hypester jamce. I don't love everything about them (a little busy here and there) but they have classic elements with some updated tweaks.

That was me proving a point that it wouldn't look right without the trunks, saying it would look to much like the F4 suits

I like these suits, although I prefer the second one.
They actually look as if they were based on some alien design, which IMHO is how the costume should look; that's why I can't stomach shield designs in which the 'S' looks too much like the letter 'S', like the one on Dean Cain's costume, as it looks campy and silly. The shield should look like a symbol of alien origin, which only resembles the letter 'S' by chance. This is why I like the whole Crest of the House of EL thingy..it works much better than Pa Kent or Ma Kent coming up with the idea of putting an 'S' on the suit.
The original Superman costume (the 1938 version) looked like pajamas and a cape, the new Superman costume should convince us that it was based on a design from another planet.

I think I saw this before, but where did you find this? It looks very retro, butclassic because it doesn't stem away from the look but stays as its own.

BTW...

It would be cool if the bottom curve merged with the outline

In my own personal opinion I just don't like that emblem. It's just a standard S, and I think it should be more than that, it should mean something about his homeworld, either a symbol of hope or his family crest, not just an S that happens to mean Superman.
