It looks rather regal. I tried my own redesign once of the costume and made it something like a dress uniform, with the red pants as a differently coloured part of the jacket. I wouldn't mind a collar because it's reminiscent of the helmet Kryptonians wear.

But the fact is, Snyder said he's a fan of Jim Lee and Curt Swan and that makes sense, it justifies a smaller \S/ because of its diamond shape and a medium length cape that ends above the boots. It'll mean it won't repeat the same mistake Singer and his costumer made by giving Superman such a low pantline (which added to a lanky appearance alongside the small shield) and muted colours.

cant anyone try and make costumes that are like what they think we will see? manip a jim lee looking superman suit and make it look real, or as real as possible and add cavill

I agree. Also, I think it might it be interesting to see Clark Kent develop the Superman costume in the film.

Some already have.

this is one new superhero movie thing I can do without. I dont need to see Superman explore different looks or sewing the suit together....because it doesnt add anything to the stories. It makes sense for Batman and Iron man but not for Superman. Its just a suit and serves no purpose than being a suit

Not a fan of the belt thing it's a little to off

Would be better with a single line red or yellow

Actually they do in the Batman films. It has clasps. I don't see why it would be too much to show the cape being attached.

At the risk of going off topic, Batman's cape, when in glider mode, becomes rigid, and with the clasps being on his chest, instead of looking like batwings it should look like Peacock plumage.

Superman' should look like it's tucked into the collar, and it shouldn't be shown going on because Superman has only one suit up moment-- the shirt rip.

i havnt seen one yet, i've seen the head of henry cavill posted on a jim lee superman drawing but i havnt seen an attempt to manip a chris reeve body for example with cavill's face and then adding the jim lee design to the suit

Batman's entire cape may not be made of the memory fabric, it may just be the 'fingers' of the Bat-wing shape.

But it has to be put on the costume at some point. Is it offensive to show that moment? Or to drop a line about how it's attached.

Am I the only one who's ambivalent on the subject of the Superman costume? Part of me wants to see the classic outfit ripped from the comics, and another part of me is kind of tired of it and wants to see something new.

I want something new but not a radical departure from what we know

I can swing on the trunks an cape attachment but I am dead set on color and sheild size and depth, I don't want the returns 3d ridge on the S

As long as it's recognizable as Superman and isn't gimmicky (i.e., can withstand the test of time), then I'm fine. I have no attachment to any particular design.

Well then the material isn't rigid and therefore isn't a glider with the material the size and shape it is it needs more fingers or more rigidity. Anyway, we should probably leave this as the way the cape functions with Batman on it is impossible anyway.

It isn't necessary to show the cape attachment because the cape itself does nothing. I know you like how everything in Batman is described with a good deal of BS. But the same doesn't apply with Superman's suit as it does nothing to him. The suit could have been made by Lara. It's just entirely unnecessary.

Still don't like it

The look of being metallic is not a good look for him it's too (no pun intended) alien and might even come across frightening and unapproachable plus wouldn't the reflective surface of the suit prevent him from absorbing sunlight there by robbing him of his powers

Superman exhibits the power of metal mimicry in the comics:

When I thought about "modernizing" Superman; I looked at him through the lense of the 60s and 70s with the Surfer and Colossus (rather than through the lense of modern super hero films like Batman and Spiderman). There will be a revision with a trunk line.

In what comics does Superman exhibit the power of metal mimicry?

As for modernizing Superman, why look at him through the lense of the 60s and 70s?

I can't get over how amazing this is.

Neither can I! It's amazingly horrid. My guess, is that the average age of those that think this is a suitable costume for the M.O.S. is about 21. It might be okay for some new age Superhero, but for a Superman costume it's truly craptacular. The only good thing is the font of the \S/.

Im not sure what I should do with the boots.
But here is another attempt.

I have a question: I think if Synder is the comic book geek like us he claims to be, the costume will look like THE COSTUME. But, there are outfits (one-piece or not) that included a stylized design or pattern placed on it. If the suit was a one-piece outfit, with a design/pattern on it around the waist that invokes the trunks without having them, how would that look like?
