They killed the Martian Manhunter, then took over every electrical device on the planet and projected the Anti-Life equation, taking control of just about everybody on the planet. That's pretty much what's happened so far. Best to ask after the event is over. Morrison's stuff usually only makes sense once it's all over.

It didn't (though I'm firmly in the "Superman is the real guy/Clark is the disguise" camp). Watering down his powers to near-uselessness and filling his rogues gallery with stunningly generic villains, on the other hand, did.
