The periodic table is universal it's not limited to one planet.

Is kryptonite an element an if so can Metamorpho The Element Man
change himself into it and if so could he not kick Superman ass

{thats a lot of an if soos}

Kryptonite is a mineral made up of different elements.

And yes if he knew the elemental make up of Kryptonite he'd be able to duplicate it.

Would this mean he could kick Superman's ass? Would certainly give him a huge advantage but Kryptonite alone isn't really enough to make it a forgone conclusion that he'd beat Superman (otherwise the Kryptonite Man would have done it years ago).

Although, Rex is a vetren of the game and has got enough tricks up his sleeve that if he needed too he'd give Superman a pretty hard time.

If he were smart, he'd turn himself into a mist of little Kryptonite particles and let Superman breathe him in. :)

...and then turn solid again, yet maintaining his kryptonite composition, making Clark explode outward around him?

But making him explode in a bloody mess would be so much more epic. :csad:

Well, if you really wanted to get gruesome, Rex could turn into the Kryptonite mist to soften Clark up and then switch to a really potent acid to melt him from the inside out.

What are all of the New Gods actually gods of? I know that Scott Free is God of the Escape, and Darkseid is God of Darkness (conversely, I'm reasoning that Highfather is the God of Light). Other than that, though, I'm drawing a blank.

I don't think the New Gods work like that. I think they're just a bunch of immortal dudes who decided to call themselves the New Gods.

Orion would be a war god, though.

Orion was another one, and I'm certain that I've seen him referred to as being a God of War in a comic or two. Not in the same way as Ares is the God of War. I'm pretty sure that it's just a series of titles that the New Gods give themselves, and not indicative of their powers, like Mister Miracle being the Escape God; he's just a really good escape artist, and doesn't have any god-like powers to go "Kazaam! Everyone held captive in the world has now escaped!" Nevertheless, I'm curious about what other "god" titles other New Gods have.

YAY... Trinity has FINALLY come to TPB!

Anyway... is Gotham Central worth it? Or is it (wat i assume) only for hardcore Batman fans only?

Kryptonite is a mix of materials from Krypton, includinga heavy radioactive isotope not found on Earth. There seems to be a consensus among some it's element 126 on the extended periodic table and would formally be called Kryptonium, not Kroptonite. It is assumed to be part of a series of hypothetical stable nuclei heavy elements, mostly because a planetary core of the crud was not well past the critical mass of the element.

Metamorpho's power was revamped in the 90s and he can turn his body into any elements normally found in a human body. whic is to say damn near most of them (oddly enough this expcludes the noble gases such as helium and ahem krypton). In all events an element not found on Earth isn't likely to be one he canreplicate. Though Element Lad (as well as Cosmic King) two transmuters from the 30th/31st centuries have had no trouble making the stuff.

When George Perez got almost ALL of the DC divine based characters together in his Wonder Woman run (Fury was left out for sure, both of her) Darkseid is declared one of the Gods of War, along with Mars and Ares. Which was notable because they were calling for an end to the hostilities at that point. ;)

Metron is the God of Science, he told that to Brainiac 5 once. Seemed upset Brainy didn't worship himfor some reason.

Lightray is a God of light and movement. Orion is not a god of War, he's a specialist, the God of Melee.

Desaad: God of Deciet. Granny Goodness: Goddess of Troop Unity.

If he were smart, he'd turn himself into a mist of little Kryptonite particles and let Superman breathe him in. :)

If Supes exhales first though, Rex is likely dispersed over square miles, oh and probably leaving the atmosphere...

True. And...in theory, at least...the periodic table as we know it would only expand as new planets unveiled new elements to us. Like ice-cream.

I'm adding some titles to my subscription list and have decided that I want some more DC on that Marvel-dominated list...so what book would you recommend?
