Costner and Lane = Jor-el and Lara
Bank on it.
The press release was lying?!

It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.The press release was lying?!

Nah... I did not see it. I only saw "BREAKING: Diane Lane cast in "Superman." Don't know role. Probably Ma Kent. Story coming ..."
Oh well.
Not like it would have not also been perfect casting though.
The cast isn't any better than Superman Returns' was on paper as of now. Eva Marie Saint? Frank Langella? Kevin Spacey?Fantastic casting. This is shaping up to be Batman Begins 2.0 in terms of the cast (and if they manage to get a better actress as the love interest, even better).

Woah now.diane lane>>>saint
Fair enough but consensus when those casting choices were made was that Superman Returns was already Batman Begins 2.0 in terms of casting, sans the lead. They even wildly miscast the lead female role in exactly the same way.Yeah, imo it is, because it reflects the approach to Superman. Aside from Spacey, who I thought was a no-brainer and genius (if used as a post-Crisis Lex).
