The Official Flash thread - Part 1

I am very happy about this

Never liked that plot development about the speed force so I'm glad its been undone

You're right one thing though. I forgot about some of those characters. Striker and Karolina are two non stereotypical gays that I've read.

They're very well written :) Julie is my favourite character in the series she's adorable :hrt:

I would actually be curious as to why you feel those other characters are stereotypical though

I know we don't always agree about stuff but i do respect your opinions and I'd be interested to know what you find stereotypical about those characters

I definitely agree that lgbt characters have been written very badly in the past in ways that have offended and infuriated me but I think over the past ten/fifteen years they've been written pretty well overall :)

I just reread Flashpoint, and I definitely think they'd have to do some sort of prologue explaining how Reverse Flash killed Barry's mother, made his life miserable, etc.

Outside of that, I really think the Batman mini is the only other really important thing that could be integrated. Mainly because, at it's heart, Flashpoint is as much a Batman story as it is a Flash story, so they'd be wise to really highlight all the parallels between the two characters.

Explaining the Aquaman/Wonder Woman war, showing Superman's life of confinement...really isn't at all important or necessary. You pretty much get the drift from the main Flashpoint storyline.

Yep that stuff will probably just be happening in the background if its included in the film at all

In the bold - so that's why it's getting the green light, the Batman factor.

So, who do we want voicing Flash? Should it be Michael Rosenbaum or some totally new left field choice?

Rosenbaum was great as Wally in the animated series but I don't know if he'd be the right choice for Barry

Seeing Zoom get stabbed in the middle of a monologue will be fairly hilarious on screen :hehe:

Yes. But DC doesn't let Wally exist anymore, remember?

And yet they use him in place of Bart on the animated Young Justice (opposite Dick Grayson as Robin instead of Tim Drake or whoever the YJ comic Robin; there are so many Robins that after a while I lose track of which Robins go where).

The new speed force explanation was really good. I'm also another reader who's glad that Barry himself is no longer "the speed force". The more further away elements from The Flash: Rebirth are pushed aside the better.

Justice League in that movie was Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Martian Manhunter, and Cyborg.
How incredibly lame. Not even Aquaman? Although they at least got Martian Manhunter that time instead of letting Cyborg replace him.

Does that include Barry no longer being with Iris?

Yes considering how boring it all was with the way it was being handled after Barry came back. Good riddance. The comics are in a better place now.

As someone who grew up reading Wally's stories I rather have those stories that are in my long boxes and book shelves displaying his growth and evolution as his legacy than have him get regressed like his best friend Dick Grayson was. Even Bart was seriously ruined for the worse in certain respects so far at least Wally didn't have to go through that and Barry actually improved.

On the bright side though Corp it means J'onn is going to be in a comic book by Peter Milligan

So Martian Manhunter is better off really :)
