Does anybody have a list of the current signed Warner Bros directors? Because it's 99% chanse that they get the job, 1% that Warner Bros signs some director from another movie company.

I wonder if Walter Hill is signed to WB. I think he will work because The Flash is going to a more serious hero adventure and show us some police work.
Hill have made films about cops, and street thugs. And he does pretty violent stuff, he was no1 in this field before tarantino. I wonder if he can do something out of The Flash.
Or why not bring in a difficult director like Lynch? Or Cronenberg?

Maybe Guy Ritchie (signed to WB) could make The Flash?
The guy (lol) has done an awesome job with Sherlock Holmes, and I bet that the second one that is coming out this december will be even better!

So after SH2 is done, this guy will need an other movie, which could be The Flash! He would make thoese great detective scenes for Bary, since he police scientist.

Y'know, I think Ritchie would be better suited to something with tons of blistering, kickass fight scenes...like Lobo or Hawkman, if they ever get around to making them into movies.

JONES, DAMMIT.

^ Yeah. The Flash also requires blistering, kick-ass fight scenes, after all.

No, I think he is suited to Flash. I'm just interested as to how he'd handle other DC characters, too.

Walter Hill still makes films that get theatrical releases? :cwink:

I don't really see either of them being a good fit for the Flash. Remember the last time Lynch tried to make a big summer film? It was the 1984 flop called DUNE.

You don't want to make this **** heady for heady's sake, if you know what I mean. Batman has an excuse due to it being cerebral as it is.

I'd like for Alex Proyas to get the job :yay:

The director needs to have a really kinetic sensibility, and someone who wouldn't just make it dark and brooding. Some ideas...

Edgar Wright
Gore Verbinski
Alfonso Cuaron
Danny Boyle
Rian Johnson
Michel Gondry

You know who I think would work for Flash? Jake Gyllenhaal. I was raeding Flashpoint and then started thinking about Quantum Leap and then SourceCode. I think he'd pull of Flash rather well. And get Ducan Jones to direct cause if he can pull off Moon, he can pull off Flash.

He might be going back to Lobo after Sherlock, right?

I hope Lobo never comes out, because it will flop.
He would be stupid if he turned down The Flash offer.
And why are people saying that The Flash wont have fighting scenes? Guy could make thoese kick ass slow motion fight scenes like Sherlock Holmes!

My favorite is still Neil Patrick Harris.

But I'd be cool with Matthew Morrison, Chris Pine, Michael Rosenbaum, Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake (I think he's much more suited for Barry than Hal) or.. Most anyone talented. I just want to see a good Flash movie. I think all the actors are capable enough, there's probably some I'm missing.

I'd rather a director who doesn't chop up little kids. So no to Landis.

Harsh the way you've worded that imo; Landis has been put through the wringer over this and maintains to this day that the SFX guy was to blame. I'd also highlight that he was actually acquitted [of involuntary manslaughter] in court, by the way.

Obviously, a terrible, terrible tragedy happened on that day but it's a complicated and delicate affair. It's certainly not as black and white that Landis can be described by yourself as the directorial equivalent to Freddy Krueger.

Jake Gyllenhall? I don't see it.

Jake Gyllenhall could be a great actor for The Flash!
But I still want Bradley Cooper, but if Cooper dosen't get the role I would be happy if Jake Gyllenhall got it.

And I sure hope not that Justin Timberlake gets the roll, nor Neil Patrick Harris.

aiI wouldn't mind Justin or Neil. But Justin doesn't come off as an intellect or an Everyman like Barry.

Getting Neil Patrick Harris to play Barry in live action after voicing him in New Frontier would be awesome.

One could argue that if Landis had not ignored basic safety rules and not broken laws regarding child labor that tragedy could have been avoided, but we're getting off topic.

And... isn't Landis kind of over the hill at this point?

That he is, so mentioning him is a bit moot; just didnt particularly like the basic demonification of the guy, that's all

Not that he enjoys chopping up kids, I just don't think he should be trusted around anything involving action/big effects since he doesn't have much regard for safety.

That and he has been struggling for the past two decades. I would have trusted landis if it was the early 80's. 2011's Landis? Not so much.
