Walter Hill still makes films that get theatrical releases?I wonder if Walter Hill is signed to WB. I think he will work because The Flash is going to a more serious hero adventure and show us some police work.
Hill have made films about cops, and street thugs. And he does pretty violent stuff, he was no1 in this field before tarantino. I wonder if he can do something out of The Flash.
I don't really see either of them being a good fit for the Flash. Remember the last time Lynch tried to make a big summer film? It was the 1984 flop called DUNE.Or why not bring in a difficult director like Lynch? Or Cronenberg?
He might be going back to Lobo after Sherlock, right?
I'd rather a director who doesn't chop up little kids. So no to Landis.
Jake Gyllenhall? I don't see it.
One could argue that if Landis had not ignored basic safety rules and not broken laws regarding child labor that tragedy could have been avoided, but we're getting off topic.Harsh the way you've worded that imo; Landis has been put through the wringer over this and maintains to this day that the SFX guy was to blame. I'd also highlight that he was actually acquitted [of involuntary manslaughter] in court, by the way.
Obviously, a terrible, terrible tragedy happened on that day but it's a complicated and delicate affair. It's certainly not as black and white that Landis can be described by yourself as the directorial equivalent to Freddy Krueger.
That he is, so mentioning him is a bit moot; just didnt particularly like the basic demonification of the guy, that's all
I agree. Not that he enjoys chopping up kids, I just don't think he should be trusted around anything involving action/big effects since he doesn't have much regard for safety.
