Harrison Ford was Han Solo, Indiana Jones and Jack Ryan.

???? Captain Kirk won't even be in the next Star Trek movie. Pine will have plenty of time, and he's the most perfect for the Flash.

Jack Ryan? What relevance is Jack Ryan to anyone or anything now?

They're basically setting up Jack Ryan to be a new Bourne-esque film series. Kenneth Branagh is helming it.

That's true, but I don't believe he played Ryan when he was currently tied up with the Jones and SW trilogies.

He didn't do them concurrently.

Haha.

Where is a good place to start in the Flash books?? What are some of the good trades or graphic novels. I've been wanting to get into Flash stuff for a while now and aside from some random knowledge of some events throughout his history Ive never really checked them out and I'm really curious about them. Any help is appreciated

No, it's been confirmed that the next JJ Abrams Star Trek movie will bring back George Takei, and follow Captain Sulu on his adventures with the Eccelssior.

Chris Pine is free to do the Flash, and it can only be him.

Pretty much all of them. All of the trades do a solid job dealing with Flash's legacy, few of them are heavy enough to require you needing to read everything else. I'd say something by Mark Waid or Grant Morrison would be a good starting point, for Wally and Barry, respectively. Waid helped redefine The Flash's legacy in the 90's. Morrison's THE FLASH: REBIRTH is the storyline that brought the Silver Age Flash Barry Allen back, and sort of recaps his history and the legacy of the speedsters.

Off topic, I know, but... what? Why? Jack Ryan isn't Jason Bourne. He just isn't.

So yeah, the Flash. Anyone notice that one American running in the 100m sprint sporting a full red body suit and yellow kicks?

Flash Rebirth is by Geoff Johns
Flash, Return Of Barry Allen - Mark Waid
Flash Omnibus1,2,3 - Geoff Johns
Flash, Born To Run - Mark Waid
Flash, Terminal Velocity - Mark Waid

Neil Patrick Harris as Barry Allen/The Flash...

That's it :woot:

Polux

I want a Flash movie SO BAD. One of my absolute favorite charcacters, Barry or Wally, Hell, I liked Bart as Flash for that two week period they stuck with him.

Anybody here seen Premium Rush with JGL. Good portrayals of Aug-Cog (seriously). I know he's just on a bike, but I feel like it's the closest we'll get to a Flash movie.

I also realized that with the Flash's power-set, Zoom would be the ideal villain for conflict with two speedsters racing each other.

Yeah, I liked what Koepp did with that whole thing. They called it a superpower, but it's basically due to him training himself to never stop and not having brakes.

Was that movie any good?

It was good for a mindless popcorn flick. Not must-see or anything but at least worth a DVD rental.

I really really hated the villain and how the actor had the worst overdone fake New York accent ever (he actually reminded me of Bugs Bunny). Hopefully, Michael Shannon does a better job in Man of Steel.

I'm sure he will.

Maybe Mark-Paul Gossalaar for Barry? I was thinking Anton Yelchin as Wally?

Nothing gets me angry like bad NY accents. They are rarely ever done right. Punisher War Zone being one of the worst examples.

The two accents most mangled are Southern and New York. They're almost always exaggerated or the person can't maintain it.

The southern one gets on my nerves. I live in Kentucky and the accents are not bad here at all.

Right Watcher? I live in Owensboro and they can get bad but not THAT bad. Oh and the post above mine?? YES YES YES!!!!!

I just hope that when thwy do Flash they make sure to go for a runner's physique. And a swimmer for Aquaman.

That's a cool logical concept, but how well can you see that through a costume. I'm sure you'll be able to see they're not very muscular, but tone doesn't show up well through any substantial fabric.

And this time, young Sulu goes to the future to team up with him! Takei. Cho. STAR TREK II: The Wrath of Con.

Come on down here to Alabama. We'll help you out with that "light accent" problem.

So, on the movie I have the same ideas I've always had:

Title: "The Flash"
Story: Barry Allen, CSI, is a methodical slowpoke, is too slow to get a promotion, solve the boomerang killer case, talk to the cute reporter Iris West who lives across the hall, but agrees to babysit her nephew Wally anyway. They meet Barry's old eccentric college buddy Albert Desmond and he invites them to tour his lab. Something goes wrong, a lightning storm short circuits everything and then explodes one of Desmond's experiments, Barry and Wally are caught in the explosion. Barry receives powers and Wally's in the hospital. Desmond sees the accident has unlocked the key to his experiment and he now has a Philospher's stone like device. Meanwhile, Barry uses his powers to fix stuff in his life, but the speed has consequences. Desmond helps him acquire a suit. Barry goes up against the boomerang killer, who calls himself Captain Boomerang and finds the guy is hard to find. Desmond becomes Dr. Alchemy and tries to fix the city the way a scientist might, but people don't like being told what to do. These conflicts escalate, with Iris being involved as a reporter and victim, Flash finds that moving too fast causes him to miss things sometimes too, the two villains meeting and Alchemy being convinced that he's on the right path. After Wally wakes up to encourage him, Flash manages to finally catch Captain Boomerang and rescue Iris, but by that time, his buddy Desmond is a full fledged villain making walls out of nothing, sinkholes out of everything, and other cool transmutation tricks. Flash finds balance, between moving fast and actually being slow and methodical and wins the battle by waiting out Desmond's abilities and then unleashing the speed.
Special Effects: Blurs and whooshes in general, but specifically a lot of bullet time with AugCog highlights and a special uber-bullet time for when he's going really fast and everything seems to completely stop.

This movie should also pretty much justify why he has the physique he does without working out a lot. Metabolism.
