I assumed he meant in general (Piccolo = Joker of Dragonball). For the film, yeah, he's the villain. But as far as popularity, being a total badass and what not, Vegeta is the Joker of the Dragonball universe.

The way DBZ was presented in north america, Piccolo was just kind of..there. They didn't give any background on him, his demonic past and hatred of Goku. It took away from his sacrafice and conversion imo.

So it's no wonder people think of Vegeta as the bad ass.

with james marsters playing piccolo, he´ll be the star of the movie, i wouldn´t worry about that

i saw the japanese version of dbz and its the same, you don´t get that much background from piccolo, if you are not familiar with db, it really is much less meaningfull his sacrifice, thats one of the reasons im so glad they are doing this movie first
having the villian of this one being one of the greatest heroes in the sequel is an amazing story

Yea, until watching the original Dragon Ball, I thought Piccolo was a pointless green man, especially before watching the Namek Saga. (Hell if I didn't know any better, I would have thought that he was there to get laid by Bulma, but then again I was 8 )

i loved the comments from the actors, they got me even more excited for this movie. chatwin will own as goku, i have a lot of faith in him now

Same as anyone who is a true movie buff and understands every angle in which a movie is being marketed and produced. I said Batman and Robin was going to be crap the moment Macdonald's were sponsoring it

This will sell big the first week but will drop immensely by the second week by about 60% or so.

Same way I predicted Speed Racer though it was a neat experience for me being an artist with a visionary mind frame
