There is an invalid comparison when people try to compare Chatwin's Goku to Heath Ledger's Joker.

No, it's not. Two actors who are both taking on comic characters is completely valid. I know I'm late pointing this out, but then again, I shouldn't really have to.

I would find it kind of hard to compare the 2, Ledger played a darker character, whereas Chatwin is playing a somewhat lighthearted character. The comparison would be more concrete once the movie releases and we see the finished product, but as for now, we dont have enough footage to make that comparison.

I think the point is that these are interpretations of a character, instead of walking off the pages.

Ledger Joker wore make-up instead of falling into a vat of chemicals and becoming permanently stained.

Chatwin Goku has a different hairstyle, and from what I can see, not near as light-hearted as in the anime.

For one Ledger had Nicholsons' BIG shoes to fit in .Chatwin is the first to play him in a live action movie. There's no comparision.

I just explained the comparison. It comes down to the fact they aren't carbon copying the characters, they're making their own versions of them.

Ledger did an outstanding job, not many thought he would when 1st cast.

Give chatwin a chance, Goku is a hard character to cast for a live action movie, i personally don't know who i think fits the role, no one really springs to mind.

So i'm eager to give a chance.

It's make or break for his career, so if he wants it bad, he'll do to the best of his ability,

It's up in the air really, i see both sides to the debate, i wish i could just watch the bloody film now, just to curb my morbid curiosity

Im gonna have to disagree with you on that. Justin Chatwin has only been in a few movies. Although, he wasn't my first choice for Goku, he may do well, ever since TDK came out, it has become the new comparison film. Pretty much any movie that comes out, has to be compared to TDK in some form or fashion.

I've seen all of Chatwin's movies, and I've yet to be impressed by him in a single one.
