*sigh* i guess people have a hard time reading around here. i never said Tien wasn't important. i simply said he was LESS important than Krillin.

I still don't think he's less important. Maybe in Dragon Ball Z. But in DB, after the Tenshinhan Saga, I'd say they held equal footing over cast importance.

Tien and Gambit may be cooler characters, but that doesn't make them more IMPORTANT.



and just because we haven't gotten confirmation that he ISN'T in the movie doesn't mean he WILL be in the movie. i'm going by what we know...which is that the main casting is complete and that Goku will have a best friend that's not Krillin. i'm getting really tired of your "you never know" replies so please don't reply to my posts with those kind of comments. just because you have a blind hope for this film doesn't mean that everyone else does.

Btw, Tien is not less important than Krillen, they are about the same, both had their own time to shine in DB/Z.

Yes. The core cast is complete, and Teto was never apart of that. If it wasn't for the "interview" on Hoy Cinema no one would even no about the character.

To be brutally honet, Tien has done more than Krillen has in DBZ even when he only made cameo appearances. Krillen always got his ass handed to him & always complained whereas Tien managed to hold off Cell & even tried to put up a fight against Majin Buu. Not to mention it was mostly Krillen's fault for not shutting down the Cyborgs when he had the chance. Yeah, Krillen's really that important.

i won't argue with you there. regardless, chances are if we see Krillin in this movie he won't have more than a couple of minutes of screentime (ala Teto).


exactly...that's even worse. the fact that they would include Mai and not Krillin shows where their priorities are at. obviously not in keeping as faithful to DBZ lore as they can...

Er, but Mai and Krillen are 2 completely different character serving 2 completely different purposes. One is a hero the other a villain.

I just think most people are used to thinking of Krillin the way they saw him in the Namek/Frieza Saga, when he played a huge role in the story. Krillin didn’t become more prominent than Yamcha and Tenshinhan until after the Saiyan Saga. Up until then, they were all three on equal footing.

By "if" I meant that he obviously isn't important enough to warrant a casting announcement.. He's not even on the side list. He's just an extra who was lucky enough to get a line.

you're going to argue AGAINST Beast and Angel being more important than Lady Deathstrike and Toad? i dare you to bring that argument to the X-Men forums. by default, heroes are more important than villains. that's why Goku is the main character and not Piccolo or Vegeta.

That doesn't change the fat that Deathstrike and Toad were used first.

My problem with this is if he is cast with a minor roll then what will happen if we get a sequel? A recast? IMHO if he was to be in this movie he will "really" be in it. A minor cast for Krillin is unacceptable.

I’d agree with that. The general public is more familiar with Krillin than Tenshinhan.
