The Official Goku/Justin Chatwin Thread

YA know...I keep saying that, but either no one listens or the ones who do call you a fan boy perfectionist or something.

DB's original story had EVERYTHING needed to become a NEW CLASSIC, the kinda fantastic picture that they play back to back on the weekends and no matter how many times you've seen it you watch it everytime!

LotR is the perfect example of a fantasy adaption. There's just no ands if's or buts, about it. People don't like to hear that DB should get the LotR treatment, but it's the truth. If a story that HUGE and complicated can be almost spot on adapted, then I think DB should be EASY.

LOTR is the way to go, plus, with all the stories in DB and DBZ you could get six movies (Stars Wars anyone) out of it. The first three focusing on Goku growing up, the last three on Gohan.

but you have to remember these movies cost money to make, there not gonna spend a bunch of money on giving it a lotr like treatment if the first film doesnt blow people out of the water, and my biggest concern with the film is wether or not it will be able to draw an audience beside the DB fans

Maybe one of the cast should die... People will see if for sure then

How horribly unfunny of you.

it's true though. i'll bet a lot of people would go see an actor's last performance. kinda like artists. they never get recognized until they die. sad, but true.

Along the same vein, all a movie needs to do to grab an audience is publicity, preferably something negative. This works best when the comment is given by an authoritative figure. For instance, the 'Da Vinci Code' book would not have been nearly as successful had the Catholic Church not comment against it.

This is simply human nature. We, as a race are naturally inquisitive, which is why we no longer swing from tree to tree. Thus, we are drawn to controversy just to see what all the noise is about. Plus, each of us have a rebellious streak as well, in that the more a superior tells us not to do something, the more we want to. So, what Dragon Ball needs to do to gain interest would be to get President Bush to say that the Kamehameha is a WMD or for the Church to say that Goku is an analogy for the Devil (he's got a tail and sharp things on either side of his head).

Uhhh...lol

If anything, the religious loonies, who are always looking for something to jump on, have the strongest grounds for argument in attacking Kami's status as God, and Piccolo Daimao's allusion to Satan, I'd say.

LOL! I was merely trying to point out the ludicrousness of the many controversies that have been raised in the media, especially considering they're about fiction/entertainment and that the audience is well aware that it is nothing but that. Heck, most of the times, nobody would have even thought of it until they bring it up.

all this movie needs to do to garner attention is release a damn teaser!!!!

Personally, I think it would be completely rediculous and ******ed if you try to make his hair like Goku's in the anime.

It'll just look silly and bring down the movie.

Besides they are making a live action movie which is an adaptation of the anime and comic. If I wanted a precise rehash of it all I'd just watch the anime and read the comic.

I have to respectfully disagree with you.

You have to have the unwieldy hair, man.
