I know Johns prior said this would be a reimagining, but have they outright stated that the 2011 film is out of continuity entirely? Or is it just expected?
The Marvel Netflix shows have better chances at getting revived.Unless they get Ryan back
They can't. Wade killed that character.Unless they get Ryan back
They can't. Wade killed that character.![]()
Uhh… different Wade.but Wolverine and his bro killed Wade, together
=P

I'd rather them kill two birds with one stone here. Have Hal Jordan as the already established Lantern, with John Stewart and/or Jessica Cruz as the recruit; you can still have flashbacks for Hal showing how he overcame some of his struggles and how he uses those experiences to help the new recruit.Forget the origin and just drop us into the daily life of a space cop. They can easily do origin shenanigans in flashbacks and such. I hope WB lands a director soon because it looks like we won’t be seeing this movie until well into the 2020s
So SS2 is delayed because Margot Robbie and Will Smith aren't available? Okay, replace their characters. Deadshot wasn't remotely a highlight in the first film, and the Harley Quinn character can be utilised in the Gotham-focused films. Suicide Squad 2 can be something different with an entirely new ensemble (maybe maintain Flagg & Kitana?); I don't see why we need to wait on Smith & Robbie.
People have been more successful with less. I know SS wasn't quite the success that DC/WB may have wanted, but they shouldn't be reliant on Smith & Robbie to ensure a successful sequel.Smith is a big star, and Robbie was the most popular part of the first film.
I can understand why the studio thinks it needs to rely on them.
I think they'd need to get another big name actor as a new character.

we're getting Bautista, lol.
new discussions =P
McQuarrie has signed on to write and direct two more MI films for Paramount, which are slated for summer 2021 and 2022 releases. A DC project isn't a priority for him now.
I wouldn't be opposed if he did a rewrite on GLC to help lure potential directors on, but right now he's starting preliminary work on the MI scripts.
