It's a shame we didn't get to see the Lizard as rendered by Raimi. We have to settle for that piss poor excuse for the Lizard in ASM.

Dylan Baker got screwed. They really built him up well and teased that character throughout the trilogy too.

Lizard in a Sam Raimi movie could've been so very right at home. Lizard in TASM was just so unmemorable and took away much of the character's pathos.

Now that was a big disappointment. I thought for sure the villains of SM3 would be Harry Goblin and The Lizard. And as you say, the fact that we got the ASM version instead is just insult to injury.

Another casualty of deleted scenes. Their team up was very different originally. Eddie approaches Marko after watching over his daughter in a park, and is more manipulative.

The "bad luck" line always bothered me. He made bad choices. He should have accepted this more strongly by the end.
Bad choices don't automatically make him a bad person.

God bless you! God bless everyone in your life!

I don't think Lizard was ever planned for the 3rd movie. The Vulture was originally supposed to be in it instead of Venom. I think Sam wanted to take a break from Scientist gone bad villains.

I was certainly on board to have Lizard show up especially since we'd already had two movies with Peter interacting with Connors. There was already a bond between the two, Connors acknowledging Peter's brilliance as a student and Peter looking to Connors as a useful resource and maybe even someone he looked up to and respected (I don't think that was really touched upon but you could make that assumption). Anyway, it would've made sense from a progression standpoint that Connors would've made the transformation. And I bet Raimi probably would have included Connors' family :cwink: rounding out the character in a proper fashion.

That's one of the most poignant scenes in the movie.

I liked how Peter went to Connors for help with the symbiote. Very reminiscent of the animated series. But they made a balls up by having Connors say "I'm a physicist not a biologist".

It was also setting up a good story for the future.

Connor helps Peter that time when he begins to change into something bad. (SM3). Peter helps Connor at a later time when he also becomes something bad.

Such a great picture. Still the definitive Spider-Man for me. :hrt:

Snap. Raimi movies will always be closest to my heart for Spidey. Perfect? No. But still amazingly brilliant.

Yeah exactly. Raimi was good at establishing character relationships like that, and carrying them on into the sequels. Even the friendship Peter made with the Landlord's daughter in SM-2, I really enjoyed that they continued that in 3.

Heads up, Spider-Man 2 & 3 has been added to the Canadian and American Netflix.

Spider-Man 1 can be found on Netherlands Netflix.

It's a shame that Hot Toys only did a mediocre job on the Spidey 3 classic costume figure since it was the only Raimi film that got one. However, they did a nice job on the black costume. It even kind of shimmers in the light.

I wish Hot Toys did Doc Ock.

Yeah, that would have been really darn cool.

I wonder why they only did a few characters from Spider-Man 3, kind of unremarkable figures at that. A Venom from Spider-Man 3 would have been neat to see but all we got was Harry and two Spider-Man's.

Hottoys back in 2007 wasn't the perfectionist powerhouse it is now.

A lot of collectors still want him. HT did Batman '89 and the Nicholson Joker, but I heard there was a substantial amount of red tape to get the green light. You might have to wait for a few years (hopefully not decades), but I don't think a Molina Ock is out of the question.

From what I've heard about the Gamora arms and Thor: TDW bare arms, they still have their share of problems. It seems that you have to be very careful with the webbing on the TASM2 Spidey figure's costume as well.

I just rewatched Spider-Man 1 the other day, and holy hell. Turns out it's been like over 2 years since the last time I watched it. And it was VERY different than I remembered it to be, can't believe I forgot so much about it. In fact, it was worse than I remembered. It wasn't bad, but it really wasn't as good as Spider-Man 2 (my favorite superhero movie of all time...)

None of them as good as Spider-Man 2 lol. But first Spider-Man movie still great. It do origins of Peter and Norman Osborn perfect.

Spider-Man 2 is absolutely the best. But Spider-Man 1 is still great.

They told the origin perfectly and Tobey nails it as high school/teenage Peter Parker.
