Well, Maguire and Jiliholl did play brothers in a film called Brothers so...:oldrazz:

lol yeah I never saw it but I did see like a 5 minute clip on youtube where tobey is fiping out or something.

Brothers was awesome. Tobey was so good in it. Really intense.

Yeah he was great in it. I really felt bad for him at the end of the movie.

Yeah the funny thing about that was I heard jak jiliholl almost took over and they look a lot a like.

Yup.

I'm guessing this was done on purpose?

I actually kind of hated Brothers. But Tobey's flip-out scene made it all worth it. :woot:

Well it looks like I'll have to watch Brothers sometime this week.

Just fished watching sm1 for the first time in a long time and I would say my top 5 moments in the movie are something like this.

1. The end fight with sm and goblin - Has people have said such a vitlent fight and I love the part with the glider when spiderman jumps and it goes into the goblin.
2. The montage of the first time sm appears.
3. Back to formula!
4. Norman and his evil goblin side talking to each other in the mirror
5. The part after the graduation when peter is in his room crying about uncle ben - One of the better acting parts in the movie by tobey.

The city montage sequence is the best. Captures the spirit of NYC so well.

Lucy Lawless and her "Guy with 8 hands....sounds hot" comment was the best.

The guy playing guitar in the subway station is so true to New York. "He dresses like a spider, he looks like a bug. We should all just give him one big hug. A look out HOOO! Here comes the Spider-Man!"

Here's a highlight reel of the OT.

I've gone back to watch this many times:

I just watched all sm movies in like the last 6 days and one thing I really loved in sm1-3 is the fad out things they did to another sinces I had forgotten about that. Example is like in sm when goblin first shows up and blows up those people and then it transfers over to the hats being thrown into the air at the graduation. There are a lot of shoots like that in all 3 of them.

I absolutely LOVE that video!

Yeah, that's because Raimi is a creative genius. :)

Good times. I really wish I could go back to when I was a small kid seeing Spider-Man for the first time.

Her character should have smiled more in the films.

I was just thinking to myself, "Why does she look so different?"

Even though I didn't have a problem with Peter and MJ's relationship in the OT, as most people seem to, I think MJ could have been written better for sure. I wish they showed the pep in her step from the comics.

MJ seemed a bit cooler in the first SM movie and she slowly became more annoying as the films progressed.

She became less MJ and more Kristen. That's what happens when you play a character more than once. The writer writes for the actor more and more rather than the character.

Sometimes it works for the better (RDJ), sometimes not.

Is that some kind of written rule, because I can think of plenty of actors who played a role more than once and the character didn't change.

Kirsten did a good job as MJ. She sold the character as was written. The character was not more Kirsten, the character was just written more flawed and selfish. Even in movie #1 she was man hopping from Flash, to Harry, to lip locking with Spidey while she was still dating Harry, and then trying to get with Peter, all in a single movie. I don't know where people get the impression the character changed. She was always a flawed, selfish person, who used men to ease her insecurities from the get-go.

She was always a better character than Gwen Stacy in the TASM movies. I admit that Gwen was more "likable" but... it's Emma Stone. Kirsten Dunst always felt like a real human being. Gwen is just 2-Dimensional.

I watched Spider-Man(2002) again on Blu-Ray yesterday. It was a lot better than I remembered. Willem Dafoe was perfect as Green Goblin and his voice and laugh were just like they should be. The costume looked good in my opinion. I know it looks silly but I like it.

I'm just curious if there's anyone here like me who loves Spider-Man 2002 so much that they can quote it from memory, and yet still recognizes the superiority of mechanical webshooters.

It's a rare combination, but I figured if I'd find anyone who shared my opinion, it'd be here.

The only one I can quote from memory is Spider-Man 2. But I can quote a lot of SM-1's scenes. Just not every single one of them.

Your comment about the webshooters is strange. What has that got to do with being able to quote SM-1?
